I call it the 8RMA+ cause you have to go thru 8 of them to find one that works ;)

Anyway I just hooked my Prommy and a 2400+ that is doing 2741 right now.

What troubles me is the bios temps never got below +8
In fact the display is reading -31 right now.

If I run Prime I get temps of +27 :(

Now I know the 8RMA only uses the in sicket thermistor.
I covered that part with a tad of vasoline as a failsafe.

I don't think it would affect temps so much.

What temps are you guys getting with your Prommy and 8RMA+?

basically thats heat from mainly the mosfets and other components intruding into the socket... not much to do about it :(

Hi JC

I have heatsinks on all the mosfets and Vcore VRM.

I have have a tiny one on the Vdd VRM

What is *might* be, is I just got this unit and it doesn't come with
foam to put inside the back plate. It has a little heater coil in it now.

I bet that heat is heating up the thermistor from the back side.
That has to be it. Like my friend saidm I don't see how you OC so high if those temps were correct.

Seems Disposable Hero is having the same high temp readings in the bios as me.

I'm going to unplug the back plate heater coil and see if the temps drop.

check this thread.here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8971)
you can fix that problem.as i did.mine reads -15c xp2600@2750@2.1v.
takes a little bit of work but it will get you better temps in mbm:D

Hi Bowman :)

Are you running a 8RDA+? This board has no sticking up thermistor. There are two small tiny metal "dots" at the bottom of the socket.

This looks like the crap thermistor to me. Do you know why Epox didn't use the on die diode?

They have said "too many people complained about high temps on our board. They don't understand the core of the cpu is much hotter. So, after so many complaints, we back to in socket thermistors.

well yes i am using a 8rda.
and the 2 tiny dots are where i believe the thermistor is surposed to go.but to the left you can see the temp diode.
and that is the area i leave open and fill with grease up the the cpu core.;)
