Is there already any news about one? Don't want to sell my xbox before there is a chip for the 360 :)

not yet but I have heard rumors about a soldering trick to enable a linux install

Interesting, but I have linux on my normal xbox and actually, I never use it because I can't play movies (don't have a sounddriver).
The most important thing I need is to be able to put a bigger harddrive in to put games/movies/etc. on it :cool:

you dont need linux to play movies. Im sure you know this but XBMC is an amazing program that will play any file you throw at it. It even reads into rar segments, and .iso images, as well as bin/cues. Seriously, the xbox is an amazing media center.

I know, I have xbmc too, but before my xbox was only software-modded and sadly enough I couldn't play movies with linux :(

Yeah the way it reads into rars is sweet. Got a nice setup through my pc to my xbox. So i can watch my films on my tv. XBMC :banana:

i do the same man, it is totally awesome. Seriously, im really impressed with the xbox. Best media station ever
any new progress on this?

Software hack yes, they are working on a hack. the specialist already has an xbox1 backups on xbox360 code but he didnt release it publically
Oh by the way piracy is bad..
