---Since I don't feel like retyping this is a repost----
Over my spring break I decided to make a projector based more or less on the plans form www.lumenlab.com. Of course every projector will be slightly different, especially since I only bought the lenses from them. Basically it's a simple design where you have a bright light shining through a few lenses and a lcd panel. This projects the image from the lcd panel.
I'll post pictures as we do the project. Today my roomate and I worked for a few hours just putting the electrical stuff together and making sure everything turned on. We wanted to build the box but the tools aren't available until tomorrow.
Goal: Finish by tomorrow evening and have 8ft wide movies going tomorrow night }:p .

Testing. The red arrows point to the main parts of the projector since the picture is a bit cluttered and a little blurry.

Let me explain a few things about the box. It was hard to make...Then when we got done we found we forgot to add holes for the power plug and for the two switches. Time just wasn't on our side so this ended up being a rush job near the end.

These pictures do not do the projector justice either, it looks quite clear. The picture is cut off partially because currently we don't have anywhere to project the image except above the couch which had some obstacles in the way. My roomate is supposedly making a motorized screen which will drop down from the ceiling.
Conclusion: If you're a nerd, this project is for you. This was the most fun I've had in a LONG LONG time. The fact that it actually seems to work is the best part, as things did not look good a few times while building it.
