Hi all. Long time reader, 1st post.

I saw all the good reviews of the 2GB HZ kit and decided i liked DDR500 at stock volts instead of my BH-5 at high volts, didnt want to risk killing my new X2 3800.

I have GA-K8NS Ultra 939(NF3 Ultra) + X2 3800.. no matter what speed, 200-250 or timings from 3-4-4-8 to 3-5-5-8 command rate 1T, 2T vdimm 2.58-2.78, tref, ect i tried i always got errors on test 7 in memtest and superpi randomly failed with different errors. HL2 froze, BSOD's and randomly resarted my pc.

anyone have experince with HZ on a K8NS board? or any other known NF3 issues. i have been searchin forums and trying settings that others use and nothing helped. I have RMA'd the HZ today per G.Skill tech support, but i was hoping for any info that might help when the new HZ arrives!
thanks all.

I tried that also. used both slots closed to CPU.. Most stable (learned from bh-5 i had previously). the far 2 slots caused random reboots and non-posts. using alternating slots in single-channel resulted in just plain wierd behavior. freezing during post..

i previously had 2x 512 of buffalo tech BH-5 .. at 220 in slots closest to cpu and was prime and memtest stable for the last year or so.

I used to have that board (actually still do!) but the most useful thing about it now is the box:

It is a poor overclocking board, especially for RAM. Gigabyte don't seem to get very high RAM clocks, and ASUS have a poor implementation of RAM configuration (maybe due to AMI BIOS). I don't want to say it but I'm sure you've heard it before... considered upgrading to NF4 Ultra-D? :p:

its been a fairly good board for the last year. trust me tho.. if i could afford a dfi i would toss it in a second.. but i cant justify tossing my x800pro for a new pci-x card just yet. just dont have the cash :(

but even at 200MHZ the ram was unstable.. and i know the MB can handle at least 220. i posted at 250 easily, but it was just as unstable as 200 with the HZ.

so unless it straight up hates UCCC ram.. im just hopin i got a bum stick.
guess until my new HZ gets her FRI.. i need to toss back in the bh-5 for now.

but keep the idea's coming guys! it helps!

GS.. how is the project coming?

I got in my new HZ... at 1st with manual 3-4-4-8 settings i still errored in memtest.. i even upped the vdimm.
once i set the timings to all AUTO i was able to clear 7 runs of memtest with no errors at stock vdimm at 250. but at 250 i was gettin random reboots in windows when i did anything memory intensive, so i re-upped the vdimm to 2.68 and 2.78 but there was no change. i think its my MB not being able to handle the the high FSB.
so i dropped back to 200 and i played doom3 for several hours last night while DL 2 files via bittorrent with no issues.
and i was able to complete a 32M superpi run.

is there such thing as an nforce 4 board with AGP ?? :)
