Hi,

I have just bought a 1/2 watt 560ohm resistor, can anyone advice what voltage my VDD will get,I will not want to fry my board n CPU,thank you anyone that inputs..thanks..

You should probably state what mobo you have. :)

I am using 2600XP
EPOX 8RDA+ REV 1.1,
going to do the VDD MOD,so what voltage will i get using a 560ohm 1/2 watt resistor..thank you in advance...

It will probably give you about 1.85v, depending what your initial voltage is at the moment. That would be fine, no harm jumping in the deep end :D

That will not give you 1.85! I am using a 680 ohm and it gives me 1.88, you will probably end up in the 1.92-1.95 range which is pushing it pretty far.

read from PiLsY's post that "Default = 1.58v
1k resistor = 1.625v
850ohm resistor = 1.68v
750 ohm resistor = 1.75v
640 ohm resistor = 1.81v
540 ohm resistor = 1.88v
400ohm resistor = 2.0v
120 ohm resistor = 2.2v"

That's why i am rather confuse that different people gotten different voltages using same rating of resistor...but most importantly when i use 560 ohm...will it damage my components like CPU or motherboard...? Thank you for any inputs..

My vdd is 1.568 right now, would it be wise to use a 540ohm since mine is a little lower to begin with? Or should I use a 640ohm and have high 1.70s? I cant decide....

If you used a Potentiometer you wouldn't be having this issue with ohms, you could just adjust it so that its right for your board.

Each board reacts differently so a single ohm setting wouldnt be universal.
