I used GS tech's test raising the clockgen during a memtest and it appears that my RAM just maxes out at @262 or so.

Unfortunately or fortunately my Opty 144 will go to 300x9 or 2.7ghz.

With the dividers I cannot use 9/10 because I am not stable at 270mhz, but a 5/6 divider puts me at 245mhz.

So I think I will tighten up the timings and go with the 245mhz.

GS, I used your recommended settings for DDR 520, do you have some tight timings for DDR490 or DDR500 too?

give better active cooling and see it can reach higher

or if for 245 i think 2.5-4-4-5 can do or 3-4-3-5 even 3-4-3-0 see it works or not

From what im seeing the HZ ram doesnt do tight timmings. You may be able to get 3-3-3-8-1t but i doubt it.

All the G.SKILL ram including the HZ seem to be really crappy latetly. I got my set and it barely reaches 250mhz not stable. Like you i am forced to use a divider i dont like making the ram run @ 230mhz :/. I dunno why but everyone who has this ram at least couple months ago get like 250-260-270mhz. Now i see people getting crappy overclocks.

Same goes with HZ. Youre getting only 262 mhz from 250mhz While i see some people getting 280mhz but then again that was from a couple months ago.

Good luck tho on getting ur ram to go lower on the timmings
that is so wrong, the new 2GBHZ 0602 is better overclock to me
i saw many kit can do 280+ without problem on Ultra-D and SLi-DR mobo

i don't see any other company that does DDR400 to DDR500 2GB kit or 1GB per stick that much overclock
at least i only know 1 model will do that!

My 2GB kit is 2 weeks old. It can do 238 at 3-3-3-6 with 2.65V Great Ram !!!

Thanks for the advice, I'll try those. I didn't mean to imply in my original post that I was unhappy with the RAM. Its stable for me at 260+ and that is really all I could expect.

I didn't know where my HTT and CPU would end up and it just so happens that I can't quite hit 270 so I have to settle for 245. If DFI would make a 7/8 divider I would be all set.

I'll try the 2.5-4-4-5 and let you all know how it goes.
