I'm contemplating a new WC system but my biggest concern is placement with in the case. Here are a few pics and I want some advice as to where I should place the pump, radiator, and reservoir. I have a Lian-Li V1000 case. I also want to cool the GPU.

1. I think I may have to put the pump on the bottom near the HDs. Is it OK to have the pump at the lowest height in the case?

2. I have 1 120mm fan at the top of the case and I don't think I have room to cut another 120mm hole for another fan. Is there a big difference if I choose a single 120mm fan versus 2 120mm with a dual radiator? I'm not going for a crazy OCs but rather stable 24/7 gaming rig. I have a FX-57 and hope to get 3.1 stable with water.

Thanks in advance.

You could get a PA160 and fit it in the front if you remove the HD cages. 120.1 wont cut it with a 57 + GPU. 160 performs almost as well as the 120.2 i have, and my 53 puts out much more heat than a 57 - 130nm vs 90nm.

Pump at the bottom is fine, where it is doesent matter.

Maybe Radiator on top of case. Seems like space is available there for at least Dual 120 Radiator. You would have to cut out two holes though

Yup. Or you can put a 120.1 in the front and one in the rear, but at that point you might as well just get a PA160.

I guess if youre in the USA a PA160 will be expensive and then 2x BIP Is would be a good alternative, if you cant stomach the cost of the 160.

Ideally I would like to put the dual radiator on the top but again space seems limited.

If I go dual rad, is the PA160 the way to go?

Anyone else with Lian-Li V1000 that have used a dual rad on top?

I'm not too concerned with cost as long as the extra cost comes with improvement. I realize it would be pointless to WC a FX-57 and a 7800 GTX without a dual rad but I really hope I can figure out a way to fit it.

A *single* PA160 will do the trick.

Go dual if you cant afford a PA160 (if youre in the USA theyre very dear), or you cant get a hold of it for whatever reason. In any case youll have to remove the lower HD cages. You can find some pictures of your case modded for a 160 in the case picture thread, i think.

I can guarantee you a single 160 will be enough, my FX-53 dumps more heat than your 57, and my x1900xtx dumps more heat than your gtx... and the 160 has about 75-95% of the performance of a 120.2 like mine, depending on the fan.

Obv with a 120.2 you could use 2 quieter fans, but thats the deal you get with that case.
