View Full Version : 3v Too High for ZX?

This RAM seems pretty cool to the touch but seems I've read G.S.Tech say it doesn't like higher voltages. Is 3v too much, unsafe?

I've run this mem at 8*266 in memtest with some loose timings, but in WinXP it becomes unstable around 250 unless I switch to 2T.

I'm also unclear whether the IC's are some sort of Infineon or Samsung UCCC. The NDA has been lifted, right?

Hmm. I see now some of G.S.Tech's runs were at 2.9. I bought this late November, early December so the IC's are Samsung?

it is infineon chip
remember having active cooling if over 2.8v and everyhitng will be fine

Would a 120mm and an 80mm blowing in from the front of the case be enough, or do you mean something direct?

I might just leave it at 2T since I have it rock solid at 257 at the mo, and have been working on tightening back down the timings, but it would be nice to know if 3v is doable just in case. Maybe it wouldn't help any anyhow.

They switched from Samsung to Infineon, and if so, when?

well good air flowing around memory modules is better 3v is really high, try 2.9v? what you mean by switch from samsung to infineon?

I would try 3v and if it wont help then there is no point in using it. I doubt itll help @ all tho
yes becasue for CE-5/6 BE-5/6 is not voltage related :)
but for 2GBZX it is
