Are you able to boot to the 256k backup BIOS? (Power + Eject at same time) If not then it's a solder problem or BIOS bank problem. If you CAN boot using the backup BIOS, flash bank 5-8 with the 3924 X3 BIOS using the FlashBIOS screen then turn it off.

Set the dip switches to off-on-off-off for it to boot into 1MB bank 5-8 you just flashed. I've got a v1.6 xbox that i've recently modded with an X3 + 250BG drive and the only banks i can boot from are backup and 5-6. Seems to be an issue with the v1.6 unit as the 1.4 i modded for a friend works just fine with any bank configuration you can throw at it.

If it does happen to be a v1.6 xbox and you used the LPC rebuild, there are issues with it's alighment over the LPC header and required solder points to join the two together to remap the LPC header itself. Solder point 3 which is closest to LPC pin 2 has two trace solder patches that are very close to each other.

It is a common problem to have too much solder flow into that area and sometimes it bridges the contacts of the two posts resulting in the problem you are describing. As soon as you press the power button it blinks on for half a sec and turns off, does this again then turns off, then finally boots and stays on but the eject LED flashes red and green for you?

I cured the problem by getting the pinout off one of the sites, maybe xbox-scene i think and soldered wires between the points to remap the LPC header instead of using that crap LPC rebuild PCB.. solved the problem of it fragging that i was having.
