Hello everyone, I am hoping that someone can assist me with the issue that I have been having. On my Expert board I am unable to run this ram stable above DDR400 regardless of timings/volts/ect. I have done an RMA through G skill and still have the same issue of course. First of all I would like to state that I have been testing this ram non-stop for over a month with no luck. I have a spread sheet with more than 70 different combinations of timings, none of them get me stable above DDR400. Last night I went home to continue my testing, I just finished passing memtest for the 46th pass with not one error. So I went into windows and was hoping for the best. First thing I did was ran 3DMark06 for a very short stability test. It ran fine, so I moved on to super pi, it also ran fine. Then I started prime, first test passed fine, second test froze my entire computer. And I thought I was getting closer  but I suppose not. This is running the ram at DDR 476, so I drop the ram back down to DDR405 and prime, no issues at all. I have primed for over 40 hours with these settings and my cpu clocked to 2853. I even changed my multi to 8 and ran 1:1 with my cpu clocked at 2GHz and I still cannot prime with this ram at DDR500. This CPU can do 2880 on 1.36v so I know the cpu is not giving me issues at 2GHz. I have also had other ram above DDR560 on this board, so I really do not think it is the board as well. So basically I can get memtest stable no problem, but it is not prime stable or stable in windows period anything above DDR405. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Listed below are my most recent timings.

hi

according with our IM, you told me everthing is good to 27x.
is anything wrong after?

Only memtest stable. It is NOT prime stable and freezes my computer.

May I ask which processor do you have mate?

I bought yesterday DFI Lanparty SLI-DR Expert.I hope that I'll achieve my target which is DDR500 and 2500GHz with Athlon 3800+X2 (stable at last).

The timings that you posted above are stable?
I've tested them on my new mobo and seems to run fine :)

Any suggestions from G.Skill technicians would be accepted:) so as not to cry for the money I spent on Gskill and DFI mobo:)

I've used exatly the same timings but I don't want to jeopardise neither my processor nor the my ram so plz if I have to change something plz le me know as quick as possible :)

It seems so far that the combination DFI LANPARTY UT SLI-DR Expert + Athlon64X2 3800+ with Gskill F14000 (2*1024) runs perfect :)
At CPU 2500MHz and RAM DDR500 :)

The settings I used in Genie BIOS Settings are:

FSB Bus Frequency - 250
LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio - 4x
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio - 10x
PCI eXpress Frequency - 100Mhz

CPU VID StartUp Value - 1.375v

CPU VID Control - 1.375v
CPU VID Special Control - Above VID * 102.4%
LDT Voltage Control - 1.20v
Chip Set Voltage Control - 1.52v
DRAM Voltage Control - 2.66v

DRAM Configuration Settings:

DRAM Frequency Set - 200=RAM/FSB:01/01
Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable
CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 3.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 04 Bus Clocks
Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 08 Bus Clocks
Row precharge time (Trp) - 04 Bus Clocks
Row Cycle time (Trc) - 9 Bus Clocks
Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 14 Bus Clocks
Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 02 Bus Clocks
Write recovery time (Twr) - 02 Bus Clocks
Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks
Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 03 Bus Clocks
Refresh Period (Tref) - 3072 Cycles
Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - 1
DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled

DQS Skew Control - Auto
DQS Skew Value - 255
DRAM Drive Strength - Level 7
DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 4
Max Async Latency - 7.0 Nano Seconds
DRAM resposnse time - Fast
Read Preamble Time - 5.0 Nano Seconds
IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles
Dynamic Counter - Disable
R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x
Bypass Max - 07 x
32 Byte Granularity - Disable(4 Bursts)

SO far it seems to run perfect :) I ran Prime95 for 7hours 46 min without any error and scored my highest 3D Mark 2005 score :)

What other tests should I do so as to be 100% sure that my system would never crash ?

I'm willing to hear and test any suggestions :)

PS: What are the temperatures tha you have guys?
mine are CPU 30 C PWM1C max 40 C and Chipset max 46 C.
Are the above temperatures ok or should I change the Nforce4 fan?

Looking forward to any replies :)

I would like to know if there are tighter timings for Gskill?

I would like to lower the CAS to 2.5 and I think I have to change some of the timinings as well so as the ram runs stable.

Any suggestion :)

I would like to know if it's possible what's the brand (Samsung,Infineon,....???) of the UCCC chipset that Gskill uses at Gskill F14000 (2*1024)????

CL2.5-4-4-8 would be hard ...
you can try 3-4-3-8
he chips for 2GBHZ is Samsung UCCC

evancold...
try lowering ur LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio - x4 to LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio - x3
CPU VID StartUp Value - Startup
DQS Skew Value - 0
DRAM Drive Strength - Level 1 / 3
DRAM Data Drive Strength - Auto
Dynamic Counter - Enable

The settings I have posted above work fine for FSB at 260 MHz and RAM at 520MHz.

I did Prime for almost 24 hours no errors or warnings and SuperPI as well :)

I would like to know at 3-4-3-8 settings 3 reffers to what? Trcd or Trp?
