Im 20 with 2years NCB :D Im looking for mainly style, not too worried about performane.

I heard Alfa's they are expensive to maintain. That's all I know. Maybe it's only the case with older models. Atleast it looks pretty.

From what I know, Alfa Romeo has a bad history of coolant leak on their cars. I don't know about the 90's and over tho.

Just wait for the Brera. This car is a dream, it will be on sale in a few months and next year in the US too. Since the release of the 157, Alfa Romeo is really producing beautiful and reliable cars. Plus it's ALFA, cuore sportivo. If you have drove one you know what I mean. :)

Those Italians sure know what a car should look like...

(thats why a gtc/spider is still looking fresh and stylish although its been in the market for over a decade)

By the way, my dad told me that the older Alfa's weren't that good cars, because they started to rust after a couple of years.

Are they better now?

LOL

You guys allways recomend somehting thats 5 times the stated budget.

Insurance probably wont be cheap unless you get the basic model.

I think reliability is ok on the GTV if its well serviced, but if anything goes wrong its going to be fairly expensive, so keep some money in reserve.

They are nice looking motors, but I think you can get allot more for your money elsewhere.

33,800 euro, same price range of the GTV and it will be on sale earlier than what I thought. You can already configure your own on the Alfa Romeo website. :slobber:

6 cyl. JTS (direct injection!) 260hp engine. A concentrate of technology.

I can't wait for ALFA to come in the US. I might have to go back to Italy just to buy one :D

OT. Does anybody know why my posts counter is frozen at 277? It has been like that for a while.

the cuore sportivo is a nice thing, my very first car was a '79 alfa romeo. i
loved that car - still do, although i had to scrap it > rust got the better of
it after 18yrs of german rain and all.
anyway. i don't like the front and rear of the gtv, especially the head /
taillights area, but that's just me.
i do dig the brera though, but is it just me or is that car horrendously
overpriced? i mean, come on, a not so bad looking 159 (sexah) with a little
less power costs only 2/3 of that (and is still only about [B}4x[/B] the budget
of the thread starter). what's so friggin special with the brera? i don't see it.

anyway. with older alfas the biggest issue was rust, nowadays i consider
it the frontwheel drive, that somehow doesn't go to well with a sporty car
(in my book). the late gta got bad reviews for that - fwd isn't the way for
a powerful car.
if the gtv doesn't work out, maybe a 156 will? or go vintage alfa and get
the old gtv from the eighties or an alfa spider - the one without the fugly
black plastic lip on its trunk lid (but beware, rust lurks! - you'll love the
engine though)

Sky, I think Alfa is really trying to raise the quality of their vehicles and this is reflected on the price. The Brera 3.2 JTS Q4 is 4x4 and is a 2+2 seats, ultra sexy:hrhr: The 159 Q4 is more expensive (41000 euros) and doesn't have the nice ass of the Brera. :D
