View Full Version : Different pump models in series?`

I understand that putting pumps in series can yield some much better flow rates, and thus better cooling. I am using the MCW655, Apogee CPU block, MCW 60 VGA block, and MCW 30 chipset block. I have a Storm Rev2 on order, who knows how long it will take (direct from Swiftech). Currently I have the Swiftech MCRES-Micro tie-wrapped to my bottom 5 1/4" bay, running the 3 blocks in series in this loop. Could I conceivably see better cooling by putting the MC350 setup with built in reservoir (http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCRES-1000P-Bay-Reservoir-and-Pump-Combo-pr-2884.html) place of my reservoir, and directly feeding the MCW655 from the MCW350? Oh, and the CPU is now naked

Anyone? Is this that bad of an idea?

It shouldnt be a problem as you wont be exceeding the maximum flow of either pump.
