Can you hear 3D audio with 'X-Fi Fatal1ty'

I am about to buy one, but I need to know do I need 'spcial' kind of Headphones, or not? Is the 3D sound going to be 'hearable' on normal headphones/speakers?

Its emulated 3D which can be applied to any headset even if its only 2.1

save your money and buy a music or platinum X-fi.

get an x-fi, and get a better pair of headphones in the 200$ + range.
