In an attemp to get lower temps on my A8N32 board/NB, I have considered rotating the XP-90c 180 degrees so that more air is blow over the heatpipe heatsink.

My question is - for this rotation - will I need to clean the heatsink and re-apply Arctic Silver 5????

thank you

Yes, you should always reapply the TIM when you remove the HS ;)

does this also apply if it has been way less time than the stated "burn in" time for the grease??? In ohter words, my AC5 is still very young and way short of those 200+ hours for burn in.....

YES ! lol

if you remove the HS and try to stick it back on with the old TIM your going to get air traped between the hs and IHS and temps are going to stink ;)

if you are in the experiment process you could try extracting air from ur XP90 rather than pushing air for some people it gave better result

Good advice ;)

Depends on case and airflow but I saw some improvement pulling vs pushing on XP120
