I really like Logitechs MX Duo. Its my favorite keyboard/mouse combo of all time. Since the silver paint on my MX700 started wearing off, ive decided to paint it gloss block, much like how Smooth Creations paints their keyboards/mice.

I used Bondo to fill in the Logitech logos on the mouse, keyboard and mouse charger. Painted parts with Dupli-Colors Grey Primer, Gloss Black and Crystal Clear, wet sanding between each coat. It took 5 days to get this all done. It turned out better than I expected!!

Did you follow my tips? Looks like you did a good job, edge of the wirst pads looks a little dull though. You could be taking over my job soon ;)

will be doing the same with my logitech mouse as the paint comming off. how durable you think that will be? its real nice.

its pretty easy to take apart the mouse. 2 screws are holding the mouse together (1 in the battery compartment, 1 under a sticker marked by an X). the cover should come off easily, then youll have to remove the cover from the rubburized mouse grips, which is held on by like 6 small screws.

once the clear coat is on, it looks to be real durable. it took about 10 months to wear off the stock silver paint on my mouse, so i put 12 thin layers of clear coat just in case, so i would say itll last pretty long. if it does wear out, ill just put somemore clearcoat on it.

That looks amazing. I have considered doing it in the past but i thought it would likely cheap too easily. Now I just might consider it again. I hate how ugly my G5 is, and my 7 year old blue/white MS keyboard isn't the prettiest either.

Looks friggen awesome, I admit I am ashamed of my G5 mouse, it has to be hands down one of the ugliests of all time (for the exception of possibly the fatality mouse).

Nice Paint Job!

I too do not like how my G5 looks... I think I cam gonna paint it shiny black. The top cover on my G5 looks like Rusty Metal.

I'm definitely doing that once I get a replacement keyboard. I think I'd be afraid of using it in case I smudged the finish though lol. *polish*

Was gonna say the exact same thing, but i'm pretty sure that it's just a hole in the sidepanel since it would've been cut because the silencer wouldn't have fitted in there anyway :)

Very nice work though.

Nice to see a good paintjob - the effort really shows.

Dude that is hot! Awesome job!! :toast:

I want my case 2 look like that when it's done. Think I'm gonna have 2 take it 2 the body shop 4 results like that though - I don't have a clean place 2 paint. Tried it in the basement on my last project...just 2 much dust (and all I had was spray cans) so it looked nothing like that...

Seriously, u could make some cash doing that kind of work for people :woot:
