I have not bad M730 (max with cold water 3160MHz w 1M Pi) and I have ocasion to change them for M780
I had M750 too, but not great clocker (max 2900Mhz)
What can I expect from M780 ??
Is the averange OC better than averange OC M730 ??
Thanks

On air they seem to get ~3ghz, so cold water maybe 3.2 or so

Your 730 seems just as fast as my 780...:-/ Max pi for me was a flat 3200 on cold water. 3 GHz 100% stable regular water, ~3150 cold water.

I don't think a 780 can be any worse than that though.

3 gig > 3.3 gig air
3.3 gig > 4 gig mach/vapo/dieice/ln2

i was searching google, and came across a site, that had a cpuz and it said 1.7v but i couldnt translate the language, it could have been a sucide shot.

With a decent heatsink, NORMAL ambient temps (no cold weather outdoors runs), Pi stable is generally between 2.9 and 3.0. Of course there are several "air" runs with -30C ambients or so at 3.2GHz, but I'm not counting those.

Is 3.0Ghz duable with good air and P4C800 volts (1.6V Bios) with no mods...?

SuperPI, sure. 24/7 useable oc, only from a gem, don't count on it.

So its not worth going to a 780 if I already have a 760 at 2.8Ghz...... What do I need to have it at 3.0Ghz on air?

Alex

if you can get water or single phase, then get the 780
otherwise stick with ur current chip.

what multi fsb have u booted up to get 2.8 gig ?

I can either do 12 x 233 13 x 215 or 14 x 200..... currently at 12 x 233. If it gets colder then I can boot at 12 x 235 and actually use it in benches and stuff. So getting an 780 ES wouldnt matter....._
