No turbo on the RX7? I thought all the fast ones were turbo'ed?

I know they're a rotary engine. And i know most cars very well. All the fast RX-7's i've seen at the track were turbo. Rarely ever all motor, especially for drag racing.

i'm guessing most will be 2 or maybe 3 rotor, having 4 rotors in a wankel is the holy grail, i've seen 4 rotors pull 800bhp with ease

btw 7's is a sick time, that toyota is wild

Rotary motors sound like high strung motorcycle motors. I love that sound.

Interesting read on 4 rotor engines. It seems the only ones made which left the R&D department were used in LeMans race cars in 1988-1990 before being banned in 1992.

A few companies have been working on 4 rotor engines but there doesn't seem to be any solid information on them.... let alone the car in that video being a 4 rotor considering the lack of information on such engines.

Unless you guys know something this website doesn't...

These guys are far from getting anything running.... http://www.4rotor.com

here is a R26B 4 rotor engine from the the late 80's which ran in LeMans.
