Hi,

I've had a project in progress (off and on) now for the best part of a year now and am wondering if anyone has had any experience of painting motherboards or gpus. I remember reading somewhere that some people have used nail varnish/polish to paint boards to prevent against condensation prior to extreme phase or ln2 cooling. Will this work of will I just end up with a fried board. I want to paint the motherboard and other cards with nail polish to match the case.

works fine as long as there are no metallic particles in the paint/polish/etc.

Good idea to tape off any chips/chokes/mosfets/etc you may want to actively cool later.....

edit

dont get paint into any slots or sockets or anything..

I use to work on circuit boards all the time.

We used a Sealent which coated the MB and worked really well as the boards
were used in camras for harsh enviroments.

When doing my board for Phase i shall use the sam stuff aswell as this
