Go into bios and select create Raid.. I don't know how much more difficult it can be than that..

i have the 250gb version of those drives. pretty decent. no problems with them. mines 16mb cache though.

The 16MB of cache makes a huge difference. (Possibly the other things they changed on the controller when they switched to 16MB of cache, but it stands that those are much better drives)

Forget about RAID-0. It doesn't improve performance at all in most situations. In fact, in some situations it could decrease performance because of the increase in seek times.
Also, not to mention using RAID-0 significantly reduces reliability.

well, what setup do you suggest then (don't use raid 0 raid 1 just use simple terms like, striping mirroring) tyvm

tyvm, i found the feature ..... i just thought i had to do something more complicated .... i dunno
edit
just looked - 90 bux for a 16mb cache hdd, 200 gb though .... but i wanna give my hdd's to my friend ( old ide hdd's) and would perfer 2 hdd's for about 120 .... so i'm still a lil mixxed up
RAID-0 can improve performance, sometimes a lot.
But yes, one must be careful. I would suggest having a third drive for backing up your most necessary data.

That is a good idea. That is how i am doing it. I am ordering 2x250gb 16mb hdds and keeping my IDE 80GB drive for backup of the most essential info.

in what situations are you going to notice improvements from raid 0 setup? and how much of a boost?

Apps/OS load time, file transfers over to/from disc.

Yup there is no way that i have 500gb worth of stuff that i cannot live without. I think however i can find 80gb worth of stuff i would rather not live without.
