well actually I was talking about wiring to the trupower 550. I was wondering if I can wire it straight to the computers power supply.

No. Your power supply is not powerful enough to run both your computer and your peltier cooler at the same time.

I ran my 226 watt tec/swiftech block off my Antec true power for 2 weeks 24/7 no problems when i was using a Tec, Volts dropped down to 11.85, and i had no problems at all, it didnt overheat and was still quiet.

Im not recommending you do it. I got tired of all the wasted power tecs use, and worrying about powering it. My external 26amp PS used to get hot as hell powering the pelt. So i gave the True power a shot and sold the external to a friend with a 156watt pelt, and waited 2 weeks for my vapo pe.

Also I cut one of the Molex connectors off and soldered the wires. Using the Molex connectors it will heat up, bad and burn it eventually. So dont even try it just plugging it in.
