 I just downloaded SP2004 to give it a go, I'm loving the new GUI. After using it for an hour I noticed that my CPU was still spiking up and down but way below 30% and that the primary 4000 iterations were not complete... All the while I cannot do ANYTHING, it lags EVERYTHING I do, and I only have 4mb of ram available. This is very weird. Could it be the priority? Prime95 24.13 and 24.6 both work fine, 100% CPU load temps and so on. Any help?

Forget these apps, try 3DMark01 infinite loop. You'll see after running many hours prime95 and it is completely stable but couldn't run your fav game/benchmark for at least 10min straight. I only prime95 to heat up my cpu after cleaning the h/s.

The thing is that I could run 3DMARK01 for weeks at lets say 277HTT, then prime would fail in THREE minutes...

What exactly that you do with your system?

It's primary use is gaming, other than that surfing and what not, I just don't want any data being scrambled

Where in prime does it fail to be exact? Give memtest for windows a shot first and run it for 5000% pass then run 3DMark01 looptest for a few hours. If prime95 runs for 24hrs and fails 3D's games ctd or bsod quickly then try to up your vcore ti'll it no longer does.

Usually in the first 3-20 minutes, the 4000 Iterations of M19922945 or at some random time (2,3,5 hours)

I'll try memtest for 5000%, but I would be able to overnight 3DM01 fine, but prime would fail. I'm testing one stick at a time now, I'll let you know though :P

8-64Ffts is mostly cpu in prime95 and 64-4096ffts is ram and fsb. Damn you already got a killer setup there. Im not sure why you still wanna max it in games.:D

I've been DYING to hit 280 1:1 but I might just max my CPU and go with a 9/10 divider and set this memory wicked tight, 3-3-2 perhaps :P 273 just failed prime with some new settings, so I am going to memtest..

Ok, update

At 274 HTT, memtest and prime fail within 10 minutes EACH, but I just ran 3DMark01 from 6PM untill now without a HITCH in a room that is at least 75F

What is with that?

sounds like your ram is the most unstable thing, 3dmark will continue to run with some errors whereas prime will just stop completely (think so anyway  )

Yup :(

Turns out one of the sticks is weaker than the other, whilst the bad one fails memtest in minutes, I got the other one at the same settings and such to 400% on memtest without a hitch :)

I am trying to find the max of the lesser stick, 270 is looking decent. Now to decide, 270 1:1 or 280 with a 9/10 divider and tighter timings?

Wow, I am having the same problem with OCCT

Looks like your ram is the problem. Tweak your system to run 1:1 mode and your set. Cmon dude 2GB of ram in any games fly, whatelse could ask for running everything on high res with all the settings maxed out. Can you change the multi on your cpu? If you can run it full tilt at 2.8Ghz enough for your ram stable at 1:1......:D

I'm just gana run 280 with a 9/10 divider, that way I might squeeze out 2.5-3-3-8, then onto overclocking my video card and I can rejoice!

with the divider SP2004 and OCCT runs fine haha
