I am trying to decide to either go with 0 raid with these drives
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822145082 or just get this hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144701
So far from what I've herd SATAII doesn't make much diffrence and 16MB cace doesn't make much diffrence.
Which one raid 0 or one hard drive?
SATAII or SATA?
Right now Windows loads in 2 bars would a 0raid be faster?
thanks

I have two 16mb SATA II drives, Im never going back to SATA I or 8mb cache (unless its a raptor) I DO notice alot of performance diffrence specially with huge files being x-fered around or huge files being processed. I think the minimum windows loads in is about 18-20seconds, I could be wrong. Unless you have some kind of solidstate RAM hdd, then i believe its virtually instant.

Voted raid 0, as it would be faster than the alternative.

However, you will have less hdd room, the need for 2 bays instead of 1, and double the chance of data loss. But you probably know that already :p:

I voted for the RAID 0 option, but I'll add in a caveat: if you plan on buying a second Caviar in the future (say, 3-6 months down the line), I would get the Caviar.

More Drives always beat more Cache.. and some GOOD controllers actually let you add Cache...

Well I'm still not sure which to get.Hows the reliability of RAID0?
Like lets say I overclock to high and I get bsod would all my info corrupt?
I'm leanig towards the single hard drive because of reliabilty.

what ever corrupts two drives would corrupt just one as well.. but if you are really worried.. get a third put it in Raid5 and get both security and performance...

Raid 0 is :banana::banana::banana:ing worthless, one drive gets farked you lose all data. Plus the speed gain is marginal at best. You would be better off with three drives running Raid 5.

I finally decied a single drive would be best for now.
