I've recently got one of Gabbax's gpu tubes and intend to use it on my x800 with dry ice soon, however since there was no mounting included when i bought it i intended to use the backing plate i got with my Maze 4-1 Tec block.

But then i started to wonder whether it would be safe or whether the material would crack at the coldness of Dry ice and if so any other alternative materials i could use.

Heres a pic of the blocks i've got and hope to use soon

L to R - Gabbax's GPU Tube, Jan's Aluminium CPU Block, SoddemFX's Copper CPU tube which is being used communally by Team UK

Well when using a good insulation the backplate wont crack. I see many other people doing it with plexi/lexan

It's fine just use enough foam. It shouldn't get very cold if you insulate properly. I didn't even bother with a back plate on my x800 though.
