I've got a PA120.3 on its way and I am trying to decide b/t Yate Loon's 25mm vs. Sanyo's Denki 38mm. Do you think the power/depth of the Denki's 38mm is overkill compared to the Yate Loon's 25mm? Am I going to run cooler or just louder? I will have fan controllers.

*Note: I do plan to run push + pull and w/ shrouds if I can fit. I am also willing to run a combination of the two types (Loons on one side and Denkis on the other). Trying to get some good temps for this FX60. I'm shooting for max OC 24/7. I might do some folding.

Edit: Zen I changed waste to overkill, I chose the wrong word.

How woud it be a waste. 38mm= more powe +less noise

But Pa Series runs fine with 25mm

just do the yate loons pushing w/o shroud and be done with it. quieter, cheaper, smaller (although w/ a 3x120mm rad i don't know how much a concern that is to you), and simpler. no need to mess with controllers or anything. i think most would find the thick denkis @ 12v (let alone 6 of them) pretty loud, and never forget a quiet fan @ 12v will always perform better than a loud fan @ 6v.

the PA120.3 with 50cfm fans will perform VERY well.

yate loons seem to be the choice according to the people from thermochill.

@ Circaflex: Do you know which model? Or maybe the specs so I can find the specific model.

Buy some yate loon fans from J-Mag. it is absoutly silent and great air flows

Where'd you get the PA? Seems to be sold out anywhere that carries them... oh except maybe Mountain Mods?? ;)

Yeah I would try MM.

Gocchin what fan controller are you using? I'm looking for something w/ the ability to control 6 fans (for my rad) and I prefer all of them be rheostats.

Well you can use a controllers that allows you to control 4 fans with 3 pin connector and 4 pin. that way you can connect up to 8 fans

Bail: Do you mean use a controller that has both types of connections for each channel?
OR
For each channel get a cable that has both a 3 + 4 pin connection and hook a fan into each connection on the cable to control 2 fans per channel?

I guess this would not be a problem on a good controller w/ a high wattage rating per channel and with the necessary cable adapters.
