"NVIDIA is also looking out for the little guy with the release of the 7800 GS AGP. The 7800 GS AGP is built on a .11 micron process, features 16 pixel pipelines, six vertex shaders, a core clock of 375MHz and 256MB of RAM running at 1.2GHz."

A couple peeps bought them at Circuit City or something like that a week or two ago. The performance is fairly similar to a 6800ultra (or overclocked GT) in every way. Makes sense as it's pretty much the same clocks, and the same pixel/vertex pipes, just the slight improvements GF7 had over GF6.

I think it's safe to call this part a 6800gt/6800u replacement part, as they are no longer being made iirc.

i dont think they will b made in large quantaties like the 7800GT as ive heard that some partners wont even bring the GS.
no special fabrication is needed for the GPU as its a normal G70 thats ported to AGP threw bridge chip.
the price of it atm is 270 euro wich is cheaper then a X850XT AGP and from what i read in some forums it seems as some people r actualy buying it so it doesnt seem to b a bad move..

if its just a bridge, can we unlock them to say, 20 pipes?

if you could then, :slobber:

dunno but i guess that Nvidia saved the bad GTX/GT cores that didnt even have 20 functioning pipes for this GS.
or that they used the same locking method on the GS as they used on the GT.

but yeah if they r unlockable it would b :slobber:
