Does anyone knows how to mod a GF4 MX440 AGP8x?

Nobody tell him ! He'll be aiming for 10 000 and going past me :D

I'm interested to know as well actually ;)

with a vmod and a decent pc you should be aiming for 12k :D

anyway, what's the chip? I might be able to help you out.

that's the problem, i don't know what chip is controling the voltage for the GPU...

She has this chip on the back that i think it might be the one - ISL6529CB / P0218ADDU

she has on the front also a mosfet - PHD3055E / PHm0231B3

do you think this helps?

ps: by looking at some pictures, do you think you can manage to identify the chip for the mod? if so, i hope these can help you:

I too have an mx440 but it is not an 8X it does have an ISL voltchip and i succesfully modded it.

I want you to mesure the resitancevalue of pin 5 of the ISL chip and the ground.

well, i measured the voltagem on all pins! ;)

acourding to the chip's pdf -> http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn9070.pdf on the pins, here are the voltages:

pin1 - 3.67v
pin2 - 0.0v
pin3 - 0.0v
pin4 - 5.25v
pin5 - 6.61v
pin6 - 0.80v
pin7 - 0.0v
pin8 - 0.0v
pin9 - 0.80v
pin10 - 2.04v
pin11 - 0.0v
pin12 - 0.0v
pin13 - 12.25v
pin14 - 3.31v

ok thx for the pdf, it saves me lots of trouble. I'll look into it and get the vmod for you :-)
just give me a day or two, I got a paper due tomorrow :-)

glad to help a fellow tweaker :toast:

I'll be boosting up my score aswell on friday. I'll get a new mobo to play with and perhaps a different cpu aswell. 10k would be nice :)

thanks! :)

know with the 4PEA+, i believe the 10.5 or 11k are possible!

well, I would think so, but I don't have much choise :D
I'm getting the asus P4B533 which I know a nice §§§§ed up tweak for :D

now I get 8500 with a medion 3500 (derived from some OEM msi board) and the limiting factor is that i can only set my ramvoltage @ 2.48 so I guess I could prolly fly and grab 10k, if not with my 1.6A it will be with a 2.4B

my 8500 was achieved with my 1.6A @ 2400 and I know my chippy can do more, I have seen it run @ 3gigz with a abit + prommy setup, so I'm confident to at least grab 9k :D

Heh heh .. I don't seem to be able to get away from SectorX .. first the GF2 MX 100 / 200 and now the GF 4 MX 440 :D

I put a new score in tonight after I stuck a peltier on the core.. now runs 400c rather than 380c. Still would like to know that vmod though ...

Colins card was a nice one, he managed very high core and memory values.

PS at least I got PiLsY's 640 x 480 record !

lol, i liked your signature on the score:

Now just waiting for Barton. Sorry, rephrase that .. cheap Barton :(

hehehehe...

tonignt, if i have the patient, i'll bench again, now with tweaks and xtreme cooling on the GF4 MX440! :)

Good luck.

haven't found that vmod yet.

Started benching though
only a testing run so far, i'll need to wait a while to get my hands on a mobo again. I only did one run at a resonable cpuspeed, because I set my priority on that r9700 he had :D

anyway I'm @ a nice score for what my rig does.

I'll be back though. my cpu got to 3gigz on air (boxed cooling and throttling off) so expect some more scores once I find a mobo on my bench again

Hi SectorX,

Nice score for just messing around :) If you get 3Ghz from the P4 then that will be a lot higher and will be beating us poor AMD guys up :D

That guy at the top now is from Vietnam overclockers .. I can't imagine that's the worlds biggest group of overclockers !

I hit 10 298 tonight but it was such a small increase I couldn;t be arsed posting it ! It's supposed to be colder tomorrow so I will have another try then. My cpu is really limiting me now.

Are these 41+ drivers better than the older 40.52/40.72 ? Everyone on the GF4 4400 bench is just strolling past me at present ?!!

Andy

with the mx440 I found that the 40.72 gave me better results over the 41.xx
but the 42.30 are supreme :D
i can overclock more precise with them and they give me a small increase in my score aswell. Of course I haven't allready tried em on an AMD, but I might be able to this weekend. I would try 42.30 if I were you

Let's get that mx440 back in xtremesystems camp
