two 74 Raptors in RAID0

i have two 74gb raptors in RAID 0 , Silicon Image integrated controler and I benched my drives with HD Tach 3. I get around 8ms acces t. and cca 70mb/s average read time.
So there is a problem, i should be getting average read time nearly twice that. Can anybody help me, explain the situation?

What's your Mobo.
I had problems with Silc. Img. drivers in my Asus A8N Premium. I have 4 36.7 raptors on raid=0 and I was getting 140mb/s av read time (total) then I switched to NVidia sata controller and boom! my av read. time went up to 225mb/s. Actually I should have a thread about that somewhere.
