New thread.......:D

I'm ready to pull down the 2k1 WR with my DOTHAN under cascade and an ASUS X1800XT that does on air 767MHz(not so good) core and 963MHz(perfect) rams........I have already srpayed it with plastic coat so as to put it under cascade too.....;)

I'm ready for benching (waiting for plastic spray to dry so as to insulate the card) so wish me luck this time......:D

Did u give up on the GTX?
51k,52k ?
Good luck hipro ...squeeze that bastard...wanna see crazy numbers later on ;)

hipro btw already checked that the 512mb gtx don't like more than 1,79v on the gpu...turn the :banana::banana::banana::banana: off 2times cuzz the voltage...any ovp mod?

Almost at 700mhz on the core (stock cooling+120mm fan)...got to pic my tornado 92mm :D

Yes I gave up with the 7800GTX as for the 2k1 bench.......and YES 1.79VGPU max as for the GFX......I do not know about ovp of it, haven't checked it yet....:)

mine ran flawless under cascade, quite hard to keep the PCB dry though, but the gpu doesn't seem to cold bug.

I got mine up to 951Mhz, wih 1.575v vgpu :jap:

I doubt that a X1900XTX would score much higher than X1800XT, the improvements in the GPU allowed for much more shader throughput, and 2K1 isn't exactly shader dependant.

Good luck though hipro5. Hope that X1800XT likes the cold.

X1900 has 1.1ns GDDR3 and it should oc a bit higher and get better fps;)

Thanks guys but I've got some bad news......Cold bug has hit me hard......:( :slapass:

When the temp reaches about 55 - 57*C, VGA gets crazy.....EVEN within Windows and 1.575VGPU, when temp reaches 55 - 57*C, the screen gets crazy for good......I just can't control the cascade to plug it and unplug it from it's mains......It's too fast.......:(

Now I'm preparing my hi-pro-mmie :D with the R410 gas to see how it does......If I encode problems too, I'll fill it with R404 gas.......We'll see......

hipro, u have some bad luck, i had my 1800xt at LN2, ~5cm in pot, fully cooled, and i didn't have such a cold bug, it didn't even run freqs i was running with DI, but i could boot, no problems in windows. I had to stop with the test, cause after 20min, i had condens all over, PCIE was fully covered :D.

I don't have any experience with temps like that yet on X1800, but your saying you can boot into windows at stock card voltages with -60°? If you can do that then the high booting voltage BIOS may not help this card. But I'm thinking your booting into Windows, setting voltages and then firing the cascade up. If this is the case then the high V BIOS probably will help.

GHZ, where is that high volt bios? I had same problem with my card. -45 to -50 the screen gets all jittery or something. Upping volts through atitool helps but would be much better to have the bios doing it from startup...

I wish I knew. Fugger has a way of making one I believe, he already had a 1.4v BIOS for XL(XT?). Maybe macci can help us :)

I haven't seen many retailed X1800XT's get past 850 clks,
thats still nice 01 score...50K :)

Thanks man but I'm a bit dissapointed......It should do at least 900MHz core.....:( A friend sent me a bios for it but now windows doesn't recognise it as ATI card and it goes at 640 x 480 no matter what......ONLY ATItool 25 BETA 11 "sees" it BUT as 256MB rams......Maybe this bios file was for 256MB VGA's ??!.....How can I flash it back?.....I have dumped the original file but neither DOS nor Windows can be flashed back.....:(

too bad hipro, i got easily over 900 with DI.
and with LOD=4 i got better results with nature.

Moonman

Yep, LOD=4 is the best for nature.
Try it out, maybe it will give you the "PUSH" over 51k. :toast:

with your card and pci card or an other pcie card , on the small pcie bank :p , and when flashing the bios, tell what card you want to flash

Thats works for the under 0° bug only, at -30° or so the other cold bug happens which is voltage related. Apparently it's not affecting all cards.

hipro5
01-25-2006, 01:57 AM
The card doesn't has cold bug ONLY into windows so as to disable some services.....Also chosing 1.55VGPU doesn't helps either......It doesn't even boot under -60*C......Only with a single phase change system is working OK and maybe with a cascade which has on second stage not the R1150 but R410 perhaps.......I'll test that out too with some new cards coming here this week......;)

Thank you guys - I'll insist......:D

Man it seems these things have all sorts of cold bugs then. My X1800CF setup cold bugs under pelts @ -20°. I have to load windows, set voltages, then fire up the pelts or I get that crazy screen corruption.

Once I do that I can bench both cards @ 830/940
