With all dew respect to 939 cpu's, no news on M2 cpu's?

wait til CeBit in mid/late April.

Might be some leaks before then but expect few suprises.

Main thing other than DDR2 support is that M2 should have some cheaper dual core chips available for it...

I mean actual cpu's and motherboard's, power usage data - the good stuff ...

Where are those "early samples" motherboard and cpu thread's?

Am I the only one that noticed the author of that article is a complete idiot:

The Socket M2 launch will be flanked by at least four Athlon 64 X2 models, which are based on the 90 nm Windsor core. These processors will be running the clock speeds we are familiar with today. However, AMD will introduce an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ clocked at 2.6 GHz and equipped with 1x 1 MB L2 cache. Frequent readers of TG Daily and Tom's Hardware Guide may now notice that these are the exact specifications of the Athlon 64 FX-60 that recently was launched. This FX-60 processor will be replaced by a 2.8 GHz FX-62 at M2 launch.

The single core Athlon 64 family will be slimmed down to just three models integrating the 90 nm Orleans core. The Athlon 64 4000+ will be running at 2.6 GHz, as it comes with 512 KB L2 cache only (today's 4000+ is a 1 MB part). The 3800+ runs at 2.4 GHz; the Athlon 64 3500+ will be the entry level chip at 2.2 GHz. Both the Athlon 64 and the Athlon 64 X2 will support AMD's virtualization technology known as "Pacifica."

1) The x2 5000+ will be a 2.6Ghz part with 2x512k L2 Cache

2) The next FX will be the FX65. The whole point of skipping the FX59 label was to move the FX series of processors to a numbering scheme similar to that of the Opteron s940: For every 200 mhz increase in speed, the model number goes up by 5. For example, the Opteron 280 is a 2.4 dual core and the next model up is the Opteron 285 @ 2.6G...

3) I would imagine that the A64 4000+ which the author is speaking of would be along the lines of a Venice cpu @ 2.6Ghz - that would be the logical processor to follow the 3800+ 512k cpu's. But why would AMD rid itself of 1mb l2 core cpu's? And if it was difficult enough to decipher the difference between a 3800+ single core and a 3800+ x2, imagine what would happen if AMD release a 4000+ 512K cpu and there already exists a 4000+ 1mb cpu......I'll have to confirm with a few people what really is going on here.....:p:

Does M2 cpu's will be available at the shops after cebit? or is
the actual launch is much later?

Those cheap X2 are slower then 3800+ X2?

Heard that M2 cpu's will draw less watt then ever before?
is that true or they are the same as venice 939 cpu's from
that respect?

By suprises you mean anything diffrent then the 12 known M2 cpu's
dew to be launched?

Can i assume that 65 nm cpu's will use the same M2 socket and DDR2 667?

Is their anything new or exciting about the motherboard's?

Is not strange that no motherboard's info reached the web yet?
