:) hI.
I have certain problems with my New "2nd-hand" G.Skill 2x512 4800 LA tccd ,F1-3200DSU2-1GBLA.When I placed them to my m/b (Abit Fatal1ty an8) for the very first time and tried to boot, instead of winXp welcome screen,i saw a strange error message.I called the guy that sold them to me and he told me to enter bios and set them to 2-2-2-5.So i did.Everything is 0k so far.
I have also an Opteron 148 and my main option is to overclock it.My Fatal1ty (non-sli) have not got vram higher than 2.85.That's why i've picked them (tccd). So i started to loosen the timmings to 2.5-*-*-*,to overclock my cpu. When i set from win,cas 2.5 my pc froze .I restarted it an tried from bios to set cas 2.5,In Every possible seting (2.5-*-*-*) but my pc wouldn't start.Boot though but no windows welcome screen. So i tried cas 3 (3-*-*-*)..No response again...I removed 1 dimm and the only thing i accomplished is to make it work with cas 3 (3*-*-*-).Cas 2.5 is unacceptable with these dimms:( ...I called the guy again an told me that with his second system, dfi board, got some issues too.But with his main system was alright(msi board). So what can i do...Should i rma them
Thanks :)

...Sorry for my bad english....

i guess only way to find out is to test on other kind of mobo. if it refuses to boot CAS2.5 sure you can RMA it. but once again we are not recommend to buy any ram other than reseller.

I'm having trouble running these on my ABIT AV8 board (latest 8-26 BIOS) at 2.5-3-3-7 rated speeds. I've tried voltages ranging from 2.5v - 2.8v and 2.6v seems to hold out the longest before erroring out. The ABIT BIOS is not quite as robust as my DFI so I'm limited on settings so I have left most on auot except for the 2.5-3-3-7 timings. Here is an A64 tweaker screenshot...

Any suggestions are welcome!

I think its the invoice # from where you bought the ram. Probably listed on the packing slip or your receipt.
