just a quicky..i got a 2700+ on a gigabyte ga-7vaxp that is running seti for about 15 hours a day as a bit of a burn in. temps read a health 32degrees idle and 35/36 full load. cpu is under a volcano 9 with a nother thermal take parked next to it dragginf air out the back..this is inline with a coolermaster is stuck in front cd drive bays to drag air over it all...

i just installed mother board monitor 5 and temps are reading 80 odd degress which has freaked me a bit...a quick jump into bios and all is good as 33 degress...

is this an aceptable temp for this chip??

please can anyone explain this general weirdness???

30C is equal to 86F, was it reading in F?

are you sure 32C is the chip temp? seems a bit low, but 80C would probably fry the chip.

((Deg. F) - 32) x (5/9) = Deg. C

in case you need to do more conversions

thanks for response...wos deffo reading 80 odd degrees c in mbm but only 35 ish in either bios or easy tune...the prog that gb mobo uses to adjust fsb and voltages on the flly...(not that i trust it much...go through bios)...

cpu ran at about 40degrees c in bios and easy tune when i first got it....since swaped grease to as3 and turned radiator in room off (on the annoyingly usefull advice from my thermal/nuclear et all engineer father) temp has droped to 32ish idle and 35ish load...even when i up the fsb to 185x13 with a 10% push on vcore to 1.85ish still now only hits 40degrrees in bios and easytune.....have also installed an array of fans on everything to further lower temp.....mobo mount plate is cold to the touch

so i pritty sure it not at 80 degrees which would seam impossable at thi point yet mbm shows 80 ...implies something wrong somewhere...just want an accurate reading!!!

i have been runnign seti and hammering 3dmark with various gpu timings...on a gainwood goldsample ti4600 currently at 317/735 sweet as...though only pulling 13500 in 3dmark...so something needs looking at some where...ram is also chilled and runniing 62222 with no volt increase (xms3500 rev1.1)

a puzzler...

any advice welcom a pre-exam slightly wasted mike:-)

MBM may be reading the wrong sensor or possably getting the wrong reading from the correct sensor. have you tried downloading the newest version?
