I was able to meet with John for a few minutes between frags to talk about his current products licensed under his name.

He is working the Creative Sound Blaster booth with the X-Fi product. Quake 4 was the battle ground and he had been beat once (5-4) in the first two days of the show from a known rival and he took home almost $400 in prizes from Creative Labs.

First up is a new gaming mouse with changeable weights. The premise being a lighter mouse is better for fast action and a heavier mouse is better for sniping and precise shooting. Measured in grams, the removable weights and snapped into the center of the mouse.

A new line of headphones was also being shown, nice quality and feel but I wasnnot able to sample the audio quality.

We will be seeing a Fatal1ty version of X-Fi soon. A definite upgrade to Intel HDA hardware.

Lastly is the new revision of the Fatal1ty VGA heat sink with integrated heat pipe. It appears to a bit more compact in size and equil performance.

John runs an ABit Fatal1ty 925XE with a 3.4Ghz Intel cpu at home and on the road.

John was at Quakecon, doing creative PR stuff there too, and Creative launched the X-Fi there as well. I ended up buying an XtremeMusic myself and I haven't regretted it yet. Didn't get to play him, though I would have liked to :/

And yes, there's already an XFi Fatal1ty edition already, it's the third highest price card in the X-Fi lineup.

I saw a pic of the mouse, looks interesting...

He's actually a friendly guy, judging from his videos on the fatality site, when he loses, he's not a sour loser, just a standup guy....he's not at all arrogant or anything...heh :)

My friend played John at E3, and the best he ever did was get his health down to around 50%. But that didnt last long. During the Last E3 he never lost.

You turn the mouse upside-down, spend 5 minutes trying to open a tiny hatch, then stuff a few grams of lead in the tiny chamber, slam it shut, put the mouse back on the pad... only to look at the screen is disgust: "You have been brutally murdered. Poor you."

Maaybe.

Yes there already is a Fatal1ty X-Fi version. I've had it in my system for about 4-5 months now.

Damn. :(
Just kidding tho.

According to the INQ, you'd need to remove from the top of the mouse, but that still requires you to remove your hand from it. Not so useful for on the fly adjustment.

Or Bender's foot.

Too stubby for me, but I'd like to see how the weighting system works.

That does it more justice. Looks like it would be comfortable to use I think. Sits in the palm of your hand.

Anyway, the black plasticky version looks a lot better, IMO.....I'd like it if it had more buttons.

mh, no. the highest priced x-fi card out there is the "elite pro". and yes, the x-fi fatal1ty is already out - and that for a long time.

there are 4 cards (ordered from low to high price):
- xtreme music
- platinum
- fatal1ty
- elite pro

I've since changed it. This is my Rosetta sig now. There is the same rendering error in IE, but I didn't put the secret message in ;)

EDIT: it's open for all XSTM members to use, btw.

I have XL hands and I like the size and weight of my G5. Logitech allows you to adjust the weight
between 14.4 and 36 grams in lots of different combinations. And the on the fly adjustable
resolution is pretty cool too.
