MSI skipped the 955X chipset and will be producting a very nice 975x motherboard.

ETA End of January

I will update with images and specs asap.

I gotta give Intel some grudging props...this MSI board looks sweet...as does that new upcoming 955EE CPU.

I read somewhere that the 975x chipset was originally going to support both SLI and Crossfire, but that Nvidia dropped out... So is 975x going to be Crossfire only?

as of now, yes. There will definitely be cracks for nvidia sli and rumor has it that it will be re-enabled (you could do it back in 66.xx drivers) in the 90.xx drivers

And ofcourse MSI puts on their CRAP "classic" chipset fan on it.

Starting to finally see some good next gen Intel boards. Other than the DFI that only did 915 and 925, there were very few enthusiast 945s or 955s (though there were some good ones).

Ive been waiting for the 975s and this may be the one for my new rig (Dual core, cross fire, and x-fi...)

Switch to AMD and K8N Diamond Plus...I love the design of that board..Is so icy..Is even more sweet than my Neo2 Platinium that i own now..

Even sweeter than the Neo4 Platinum I own now! But suprisingly, I have 8x SATA, the Diamond Plus only has 6x.

I hope these i975x's come to retail soon...currently the most enthusiast chipset manufacs are focusing wholly on AMD chipsets.

What do you expect? That is where the action is now..
s939 chips are the kings of the hill..
and until Intel has a Breakaway product that appeals to us.. They wont make chipsets for it..
They are just following the money..
