Pawn shops, for one. I got mine on Ebay, but I see them for 75$ to 100$ all the time. NDSes go for 30$ to 50$. People don't like portable consoles, I guess.

Yes, there will be a wait. Even if they have enough to give one to every consumer on the planet, they will still purposely limit supply and keep some in storage. yea, i cant get away from that game at times. but once i got like 500k, i havent been able to get past 250k again. Basically you have to live off one live till 250k to get a top score. My hands hurt too much after 100k mark, cuz i tend to press the buttons hard, heh.

Its the crappy core version but oh well, I will probably sell it. i just got it because it was good deal $299 for xbox 360 $42.00 for perfect dark, $27.00 for memory card. I played that game the graphics are insane but I didn't get too into it only like 5 minutes. Im still trying to find a pre order source for PS3's.

No emulator.

Permium comes with a wireless controller, mini remote, The harddrive, and a Chrome Dvd faceplate (the core is just painted white)

PGR3 locks up if you're in game and hit the media guide button and try to back out of the game. If you are at a option screen in PGR3, it won't lock going back via the media guide button.

naw, if you use it, it doesnt allow you to get a high score ranking.

They probly just get all the way to the exit, and sit and shoot gosts untill they have like 50heath then hit the exit. its not hard to do.

It's not that the core version doesn't come with an emulator, it's that the 360 needs a hard drive to do emulation. A core version with a hard drive is perfectly capable of original Xbox emulation.

you know whats hilarious IMO, we have a 360 display at work (Circuit City) that has been having problems. Freezing, then artifacting after restart, then not turning on at all, and blinking red lights on the ring. At first i thought it was just overheating, being in a dumb little bubble and all in the display, but after leaving it off for a few hours and still getting the red lights, i went to the internet. Apparently all but the top right led thingy in the ring blinking red means hardware failure, and the machine should be serviced if unplugging and booting it without the HDD. :slapass: microsoft for making unreliable as hell consoles :nono:

You know what si the funny part? I have an Xbox360 from the very begining i got mine one week after launch , and me and my friend & family we play A LOT! And when i am saying a lot , i mean at least 4-6h per day , almost every day...

The fact is, a LOT of them HAVE had problems, But some people got good ones. (My friend had one that works great, we played for a good 8 hours after he got it on launch day.) What i was saying is funny, is that some of the units they use in their displays (you know the things that are supposed to be cool and make customers want one) Dont work, and have the problems that so many people have been reporting.

My xBox just broke yesterday. I opened it up and couldn't find the problem so I think I'm just going to get myself a 360 and be good to go.

Just wait a while until the good games come out, there is already a few good ones coming out like Fight Night Round 3, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfight, and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. The GPU is the same as X1900XT, it does support AA and AF it just depends on the devolopers and I guess you havent heard of HDTV. Xbox 360 looks awesome running at 720p and it does support 1080i. Don't post bs about Xbox 360 when you don't know nothing about it:nono:

HDTV's can run @ 720P also which what the Xbox360 will run @ thats the 1280x720 pixels. Computer can Generate more polygons and handle it, then the xbox360. The Gfx on a xbox 360 look shiny and polished which is ugly. You ever played King Kong on it ? His face looks like its made of metal.

I have arguments like this with people i know in real life. There all xbox fan boys like youreself and refuse to Acknoledge that computers are faster and look better in games. I suggest you go read some reviews and comparison's of PC's and Xbox360's, they will all tell you computers are better.

Xbox 360 isnt a piece of :banana::banana::banana::banana:, if you want to match it you will need X1900XT and match its processing power and all its other specs. Don't get me wrong in a year or so the newer video cards will be out for pc's and you wont be able to compare an Xbox 360 to a PC. Right now Xbox 360 is better then your average gaming pc unless you have an X1900XT, and the best hardware. You were wrong about judging Xbox 360 by King Kong.

to start off 480 is the standard resolution of current none hd tv's... however 480p (progressive scanning) is ann enhanced form of that standard resolution. hd tv's use 720i (interlaced), 720p, and most only support 1080i (interlaced which causes 720p to have better image quality). the xbo 360 supports all of these resolutions... along with this it also supports 5.1 dolby digital sound in-game (maybe dts too but i'm not sure).
specs wise the xbox 360 is actually comparable to current pc technology, well maybe not the 7900 when it comes out but its gpu is a slight step up from the x1900...
now it may not have as much ram as some gaming rigs have but the xbox 360 needs less because its purely for gaming... hence the fact that it doesn't have a resource hogging os to deal with (it does have a very primitive form of an os but its requirements are comparable to dos...).

It is RARE to have a defective Xbox 360 and even if it is, Microsoft will ship you a fully new working unit overnight. I could say the same about your big ass tower thats gets virus's, needs virus scans constanty, need to waste alot of money for water cooling for your CPU (even with water cooling Xbox 360 still owns it),need to spend money buying new parts for newer games (waste of money). The list goes on, all you have to say is that Xbox 360 is defective....Every console goes through problems at launch, look at PS2 there were 5x more problems at launch then Xbox 360's launch,PS3 will have problems at launch also.

just because i'm curious, what are your scores for 3dmark 01, and 03?
because your ram is good but it has high timing causing a drop (mines at 240 mhz at 2-2-1-0), you card is about as fast as mine (x800 xl overclocked), and my cpu is a 2.7 ghz from stock 2 ghz (its an amd athlon 64 3200+). so it would be interesting to see scores being compared.
but sadly the xbox 360 does have a better gpu than both of us...

3dmark03 I got 13800 back in 2004, 3dmark01 i got 28k i belive back in 2004. I havent run 3dmark ina long time but recently did 3dmark05 couple days ago and got 6050




Btw no it isnt, youre cpu is the same speed as mine actually @ the same GHZ there both identical in speed asside from duel channle. Youre cpu is only better in multitasking. My memory is faster i have more of it, and my video card is better also. You know more about the xbox then i do its already clear but you need to learn more about computers
well atleast it seems you're giving up your arguement on the xbox 360, because you were wrong on that....
and it seems your strengths give you the needed boost in speed that you loose in other areas. our scores are pretty much identical, very interesting. now i just need to overclock my ram a bit more.... i haven't really pushed it to its limits just yet (just got it recently), its recommended up to 3.6 volts and i only have it at 3.1... more volts = more speed :D

Those scores were using my old ram i had 2 ADATA sticks that did 279x9 but with 3-4-4-8-1t timmings. 3dmark01 and 03 (in test 1) are all cpu/mem dependant.

What is youre 05 score or 06 score i garuntee you mine is higher.

With my new ram im sure id be over 30k in o1 and 14k in 03. I just dont care for benchmarking anymore.

you do understand the 6800 is very similar to the x800 in performance right? well as i said my 3dmark 01 and 03 scores are pretty much th same. as for the 06 scores... well i can't exactly run it atm, low on harddrive space (just got fear which takes up 5 gigs...).

Yea they are similer but the 6800GT is actually faster not by alot but it is faster. Each review site has diff scores as the one you showd is morei n favour of the x800, the one i was looking @ is morei n favour of the 6800GT.
you did look at the rest of the scores right? i tried to get a benchmarking site that had even reviews for each and one that wasn't in favor of one or the other. the x800 beat the 6800 in some while it lost in more, however that is the x800 pro not the xl.
but yeah, if you take a look at other sites you'll see one getting ahead of the other it just depends. i'd they they are pretty equal, but if you need to believe yours is faster than ok that's fine with me, yours is faster. i did wish i had a 6800 though... :( it has pixel shader 3 which means better hdr...

Well anyway, I don't have an XBOX 360 and don't really intend to get one. It's not that I don't like the XBOX, it's just that I can remember when game consoles used to come out at a retail of like $100-$200... not this $400-$600+ crap. Game consoles *should* be manufactured for kids, but I know I couldn't afford those tags when I was 10, and there was no way my parents would just drop half a mortgage payment on one. These high-price systems are really just targetted at older males just out of their teens, and I see that as something that helps spawn a lot of fat old guys playing PS5 in their parents basement one day.

That's my rant on that.

From there, the controversy of console vs. computer:
- No matter how great the gaming engine of the console is, the resolution of TV's pretty much suck so it's a total non-issue IMO. I mean, the minimum resolution most of us would accept on a 19" screen is around 12xx X 10xx... and we're all debating how great it is to see 1080 horizontal lines on a 50+" screen? It's a ridiculous statement. If it were a computer monitor of similar size, I'm sure we'd crack 5 digits in resolution requirements.

If you want the convenience of the console, go console. If you want an easier TV hookup, go console. But if you want the best in resolution and eye-candy (and are probably willing to sacrifice about 20" of screen size for it), go computer. The different platforms totally cater to different niches, save in the minority of setups where people have a larger television and computer in close enough proximity that they can comfortably have a problem.
