If one were to buy a Radeon 9700 Pro at Best Buy and then return it (maybe because it didn't oc well) how do the people there do the return/exchange? Check your ID, check serial # on card and match it to box? Test card? How can you say you want to exchange it for another other than saying "Yeah, at 1.9v it'll only do 430/378 so after it stopped smoking, I'm returning it"
Heheheh...
What are the chances of getting a v3.0 from a store now? Will they let you look inside at a card to see the mem chips, etc?
Any idea? And yes, I said Best Buy and not an online retailer for a reason ;)

Best Buy is a b|tch to return stuff to :stick:
and i am speaking from a personal experience i had with returning a r9700.
i could only return one on second try and after giving it a little makeover ;)
:hehe: they won't take it back if the serials dont match, btw (don't ask)

D-
Well, if a guy had a R9700 that was a bit questionable, what would be a good way to ahhhh....dispose of it? You could always use it as the $50 trade-up card for a ATI store card (still$349)
