I've got a few questions about base and general tube constructions and i'll try to make some sense
Anyway, the plan for my tube is that it will be mostly used for DICE, rather than LN2. I know with LN2 surface area does play a decent role when constructing the base, but how essential is it to have an intricate base design when using it with Acetone/DICE?
Also, when using DICE, what's the ideal thickness of the base? I've noticed some with a 10mm base on their tubes, and some with a lot less.
The tube i've chosen to use is 2" in diameter and is 50CM long (Nearly 2ft for you still on imperial ;)) I get the feeling it's a tad long, but I don't see why that should be a problem. I've also noticed that a fair few are opting for solid tubes rather than 2-piece ones. This is 99% likely to be a 2-piece tube, as it's my first time. Solid can come later if the first tube/run is successful.
Any help would be appreciated :) Ta.
