opty is ruined... can't get 3.6ghz any more, temps are whacky, and old unit gets -8c bios now instead of -29c... Sad day :(

Oh man sorry to hear that... so the temps are just messed up? The cpu still functions and posts and all?

CPU works, runs 3.5ghz on this 3" and 3ghz on water AFAIK, but the chipped corners ruin my max clocks. If I can't do at least 3.6 its pretty much worthless.

Darn sorry to hear AFI. :( Any close ups of the chipped core? Maybe it's time for you to step up to a P4 670 lol. :D

haha wana bring the ln2 down here? :D

I tried taking some macros of the chips but my cam is a POS. I'll have my canon SD450 very soon (hurry up christmas lol) so I'll get a pic then.

First chip I have no idea. I'm 99% sure I chipped the upper right with the old unit or a waterblock somehow after my 3.6ghz 1m but before my 39890 3d01 run and the second chip is slightly larger on the upper left from when I had the brilliant idea to test mount the 3" with no insulation to support, no thermal grease, and the board on a slight angle. OOPS!

The weight on the bare die (I took heatspreader off CPU) took a nice piece out of the corner of it. I just got my new digi cam (canon SD450 :D ) so I'll try to take a nice 2500whatever by whatever res macro of it.
