What's an AC97 driver do?

this is just the driver for the AC97 onboard sound chip, of course you do not need to install it if you are using an pci soundcard. and btw you should (if you have not done it already) disable the onboard soundchip in bios

Yeah - I disabled the onboard one.
I just have this problem where I cant get BF2 to work & I think it's soundcard related.
So just checking I didn't have to do anything with the AC97 stuff that came with me mobo.
