Jeremy over at OC.com that can be done easily with a Dremel - I got several hours behind a dremel and very detailed oriented and have an official ''xtreme'' window design int he works for the other side...

Tell you what, I'll take my Maze2 waterblock of my P4 chip for one hour and run it at full load. You take your Block or Heatsink of your AMD for 1 minute and run it at full load.

Winner take all, but the thing is my chip will still be usable and undamaged, yours will be a pile of unusable smoking silicone.

maze2 ... nice i got one coming in for my rig

we cooling is important and my heatsink is frimly attached - why would i want to take it off??? how does that test what is better?? we are not here to test burning up AMD chips... and as for overclocking lets see yours do alittle more per clock cycle first before you challenge again.

No. But, Intel tried. There is a thermal sensor that's suppost to limit the ammount of cpu usage if it temperature rises too much. However, there was a test done (can't think of the site damnit..) that put a P4 and an XP in a test.

They played Quake III for 10 minutes, then took off the hfs's to see how the cpu's responded. They both blew within seconds and by the cpu usage amount it was evident that the Pentium chip tried to shut itself down but it couldn't do it in time and it was fried.

Just FYI though.;)
No matter which you have it WILL die if the pump stops and you don't take action soon after.

Ok, here's a little work I've done in past.
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/Ultimate/finnished%20mill.JPG
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/Ultimate/finished%201.JPG
this block was made just with drill press.
I also made few block of this two fin spiral desing, they were very popular here but me and my friend stop making them cos' It just took too long to make one Cu block (3h on pro cnc mill).
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/spiralni%20blok%20top.JPG
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/Test1/All%20blocks.JPG
Few blocks later I came up with this desing
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/block1.jpg
Then I just put Brass top on it.
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/blok.jpg

morphling1
06-27-2002, 02:44 PM
But, because I always have to improve on my desings, I came up with this block.
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/wb_mark3.jpg
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/wb_mark4.jpg
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/wb_mark8.jpg
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/wb_mark6.jpg
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/wb_mark10.jpg
This block was made on desktop lathe with drill press. It is just a prototype for me to see the performance, and because it was very good, me and my friend decided that we are going to make them on cnc. Final design will look like this
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/block.JPG
with all plexy top better flow paths more surface and turbolence.
I hope to have first one made this week.

Eheim pump antivibration mounting (virtualy silent)
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/radpump.jpg
System filled and air bleed
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/filling.jpg
Everything inside
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/setupfin2.jpg
And here with my new block running.
http://www2.arnes.si/~mlivak/new/wb-mark12.jpg
And outside shot of my case, I don't care much about looks just top performance.
