you got a realllllllllllllllly nice looking civic there(love the color scheme)...only thing i dont like is those rims, i think their kinda overrated. Anyways nice car and swap :)

i would put GSR blades or 2000 civic si rims on them

As far as weight and price are concerned, those wheels are pretty much the best bang for the buck. I'd lose the tint, paint the hood, chin, and mirrors. Nice ride overall, though. Those mirrors rock. :rocker:

actually, the CM stage 5 is a really light clutch, it's just unsprung so you can't really ride it. i don't have hubcaps bc those are real rims and i don't really like gsr or si wheels. i like these rims because they're light, i'd really like to get the same rims in bronze though.

i have yet to run it at the track, but others have run mid to low 14's with less.

With less? An EK with a b18c1 runs around mid-high 14, and you expect your b18b to run low 14's with some custom cams?

an0nym0us
12-14-2005, 05:32 PM
cams/springs/retainers/hondata/ported head/manifolds and the list goes on. too bad i'm getting rid of the car soon, but i'll be taking it to the track before i do and i'll post up the slips. if i don't do better than a 14.7 then i'll eat my words.

I would hope a whole friggin motor swap would run mid to low 14's, I went mid 14's with an Air Filter...

that's why i'm thinking of hopping in a DSM for my new project. they're so cheap and easy to make fast. a part of me wants to tear my motor down and build an all-motor beast with my four door, and keeping the outside the way it is. it's a good thing i have a daily driver so i can keep fkn with whatever car i want to.

It looks like it got into a bad crash and you didn't care about replacing the parts correctly.

COsmetically, it looks like someone wrecked their econobox and the insurance company would not cover it so it was repaired with mismatched parts from a salvage yard.

And that's a lot of upgrades to pay for and have almost nothing to show for it in regards to performance.

Bleh, can't stand sedans :( I'm looking at a 96 civic coupe right now ($6k cdn from dealership). Will probably put $10k in upgrades into it. Overall it's a nice car you have though, just can't stand the look of 4 doors.

Don't spend more on a car than it originally cost. That's foolish.

Buy a 16,000$ car. Manufacturers get massive discounts compared to what you're paying for each individual part.

I'm talking about stuff for aftermarket sound, engine parts, exterior, interior. A lot of cosmetic and performance stuff.

Step 1: Sell that car

Step 2: Buy a WRX

Step 3: Add a TBE and BC

Step 3: Enjoy :)

Yeah, I figured. That's an extremely foolish thing to do. You'll get a better car for 16,000$ than for 6,000$ + 10,000$.

On that note, I did buy a $16k car and am dumping a lot more into it..but in the end i'll have a car that outperforms $80k cars with a lot less spent. It's all about starting with the right car to begin with.

Well, first off, it's $16000 canadian, secondly, I cant get anything that would equal or outperform it up here for the same price.

I am not an import hater.
Aside from the fact that I am 6'8" and 260lbs... Or 205cm and 120KG for you yanks... I don't fit in imports, can't drive them...

I think a First-Gen Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 AWD Twin-Turbo is an amazing looking vehicle. Not to mention it's preformance is something I could dream about.

I just happen to think that this Honda Civic looks like something I should be towing to the wrecking yard.

I agree, I also would've done a 99 front and rear conversion on the bumpers, and not even put that stupid lip, also would've powered coated the wheels to match the paint...Also make sure you put decent hood pins in, sparco really is the standard. It's funny when people waste money on cosmetic stuff on old eg's, ek's, and dc's...Especially spoon mirrors and a carbon hood...just rofl. It's a 4door, but the actual chasis length is the exact same as the 2door, true story..Lots of money you coulda saved ripping stuff off of other wrecked ek's in the junk yard. Personally I would have gotten a full coilover setup with pillowball mounts, one with adjustable camber settings, new bushings, I would've further stiffened it with some chasis bars(I would've just made some if I wouldn't find any in wrecked ek's, maybe even weled a rollcage). Also since youre using headers off a gsr, which are :banana::banana::banana:ty, you might as well have taken the gsr's suspension so as to get rear-disc braking then upgraded the pads and rotors..drums suck :nono:

Well for some people they like to put their time and effort into their cars and turn a small little weak honda civic into something fast and awesome looking, and be able to say they did it all with their bare hands. My bro has a 96' Honda Civic, he just put a B18C5 into it (Type R, 195hp) and that thing is insane, just insane. We rip everyone up on the streets. Then there is his Honda CRX with a B16A2 (civic si) engine with many many mods and stripped interior, we havent took the civic on the track but we the CRX on the track and guess how much we ran.......................... 12.9 seconds. When we were running the drag we were against a Camaro SS... We smoked it and the guy came out out of his car shocked.

Oh by the way that is a nice looking Civic and I love the rims :p:
