OEM 165's at Monarch RIGHT NOW, 24 hour sale for $299.

And some 170's (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=120341&Category_Code=amddc) for 365.

As much as I enjoy porting these deals off to my fellow forum members, I wish I could be the one buying this stuff.

Freaking? Bad Monarch... Turning into Newegg with their price-raising rape switches.

Most of these seem to be topping out at 2.6-2.7Ghz.... pretty weak.

Is that sarcasm or for real? A dual core (2x1MB cache) chip for only 300$ and its terrible because it ONLY clocks to 2.6?

2.6 is a great overclock. I wish I could buy one but they might be out of stock by the time I get the money to do so.

yeah, that special lasted for about 30 minutes. that being said. *cough* some places actually stay consistent with their pricing. not mentioning names or businesses at all.

*cough* just like Monarch.LOL back orders?

well, since i technically don't take your money, i wouldn't call it a backorder. i called my AMD Opteron account controller, requested 24 units (2 trays) and he authorized them.

let me explain how that process works. AMD will only sell s939s to ISVs (like myself) and usually under tightly controlled circumstances. Monarch, NewEgg, etc. HAVE TO bundle their processors (versus selling them bare) in the not so distant future in order to continue to receive stock. NewEgg, specifically, was targeted by AMD since they are extremely high volume and only an ISV on the ABS Computers side.

hopefully that helps explain my position versus Monarch, et al.

It is either a back order or preorder. If you have more request then you are able to fulfill when you recieve your 2 trays, then you are in a back order position. Can you not get more then 2 trays at a time?

how does the warranty work when buying from an ISV?

AMD is controlling the supply of 165s very tightly. trust me when i say that getting 165s is no walk in the park. they asked me what i was going to use them for, stated that i had to order in blocks of 4 processors at a time, and well, just hastled me a bit about it. :-) that being said, my rep kicks ass.

we are allowed to warranty the OEM/Tray parts as we wish but generally offer them together in a bundle.

retail boxes are standard 3yrs.

I took a look at your queue list for procs, and it's quite huge. Would it be possible for someone to sign up right now and still manage to get a proc?

Hey dave, just outa curiousity, how much do you sell 175s for? I just bought one from newegg, I'm just curious if it would have been cheaper from you. Not that I could go back on it if it would have been, but it would be good to know.

Damn, $10 more than I paid for an OEM 175 for a retail one, and I could have guarenteed an 0543. Oh well, guess I'll make due with this 0546 here...who knows, maybe it'll be really good. I hope.
