As always Jason's mousepot is a work of art. It was as fun taking pictures
of this 3 inch SOLID mousepot as it was benching with it!!. The mousepot
came with 2 full sets of insulation and more plus lots of extra hardware.

I now understand the power of copper. My Fluke 52II was reading as low as
-72.5C with 1.648v on my FX-57!! It went as low as -42C in the bios! The
greatest thing of all was the way it held the temps under load. When running
32M the thing barely lost 3C full load... it would hold at better than -69C!!

While the temps were really good, I struggled a bit with my setup and wasn't as
fast as I would have wanted, especially with this awesome mousepot. My
memory and cpu just weren't cooperating. Let's hope for more next time.:D

Some PB's:
1M = 22.488 seconds @ 3740mhz
32M = 19m 58.508 seconds @ 3698mhz

Nice results Gocchin. Got anything without a cold bug for some LN2 use?

I just taped it as close to the base as I could...

I'd love to try LN2 but kinda scared to handle it ;)

Ah so that's why the temps look a bit funky... Jason said the 2" did -74c so -69c was like "huh".

ln2 is safe, just bench naked ;)

Yeah I thought of drilling a hole near the base to put a probe in but I don't want to ruin the container's beauty ;)

Yes and thanks for such great mpot. :toast:
I did an initial test with DI and temps are very nice with this Alu. container. :slobber:

I have about 24 Kg's of dry ice to play with.

-62C loaded on the base at 1.9v and 3.6ghz if you use a shot glass worth of acetone ;)

You mean with my little gocchin figure or my "otaku-ness" in general ;)

haha the otaku-ness isn't that bad, i don't see figurines all over the place. But the girl totally caught my attention. Hope she's your "hermes"

anyways
can the memory problems be related because you're not using the orange dimm slots on the dfi. I used armaflex to do the bottom of my last mousepot, in order to make enough room for the last orange dimm.

Got my new FX-57 to replace my 0528 GPMW...

0516 WPMW has a slight cold bug... I can only boot with the temps warmer than -60C and
cannot run over 255 HTT which forces me to use the 15x multi... still not bad results
though for my first night figuring out this chip, some PBs. Untweaked 2003 Server in
diagnostic mode, 1M screencap crashed so only have a digicam pic :(:

you MAL should have been 6, not 8.
then at around 260MHz you need 7

I think it depends on how high the CPU clock is.. and also which mobo.. :)

On my expert I was able to set MAL at 6 with similar clocks, but on a Ultra-D I couldn't..

On my Ultra-D and with BH-5 or UTT i need 7 above ~265HTT, and 8 above ~ 295HTT

No I didn't use it, I'm not sure if it would help my result, or just be for keeping the temps higher....

Was ready for some serious 3D today especially after being pretty sure I could 3D bench at 3.8ghz+ with the new FX-57... with dual OCZ PSU's in had and a tub of DI, I had great contact (you always do with these mousepots and was ready for action)...

Sadly I couldn't even make one run of 03 or 05... at 3.6ghz, 3.7ghz or 3.8ghz... the cpu and GTX 512's just wouldn't get along. Everything would load fine 03 and 05 started out fine... but once the title screens loaded I'd get a black screen, reboot or crash out of 03 and 05 with a 3DMark error... just wasn't my day.

Kinda frustrated now so I took a break. It's hard to do hardware diagnostics once I start benching as the cold bug kicks in and if I shut dow for even a minute I can't post again... so I have to keep the system going...

Well at least the setup looked good ;) till next time :)

With my 0516 1241482....I have to keep it loaded and maintain evap. temp. no less tahn -85C to be able to bench @ 257X15 and thats with ACPI Multi.
System will froze if evap. temp. passed -89.99C:(
I'm pretty sure with temp. around -73 to -80C yours will be able to run >260.

Dumo is totally right on about the chip.
Keep up the good work Tario :toast: Problem solve your rig one step at a time and work your way up. Everytime I try for too much all at once from every piece of hardware, it usually ends up bad news.

Dimensions in xs are highly protected business information :) If you are going to have solid container made you could try something like this for example. I modified it quickly from another drawing and fastening "ring" in the middle of container is missing but anyway:
