Ok guys here is my current watercooling setup
Iwaki WMD-20RLT pump
Black Ice Extreme 3 with 3 san Ace 103 cfm fans pulling air through it.
All Brass TDX with #4 nozzle kit CPU
Maze 4 low profile acetal GPU
dd fillport
Tygon 1/2" tubing with all 1/2" fittings
Room temps stay at 70 f all the time. I am running a 3800x2 with the ihs on at 1.52v at 2700Mhz. My idele temps are around 33-35 c and load temps are around 39-41c. I was wondering if changing out the tdx for another block would lower the temps any. I am looking at either a storm or a silver g5. Whta would be the approximate gain if any would be. Thanks in advance for your input.

you're best boost would be throwing a tec on there.

not interested in tec. i've been there and done that with tecs and phase change and chillers. I really don't want to deal with condensation any more. I just want to get the most efficient water cooling setup as possible. So would i gain anything from a g5 silver or a storm? thanks

a silver g5 storm will probably give you 2-5c max ... Is it worth the price of 150 (used) I don't know.. I am getting the same temps as you with an opteron 148.. with a similar setup... BIX2, DD TDX w/ nozzle 1, MCP600 pump, Dual Reservoir. Try remounting your block and reapply thermal paste to make sure you the best temps possible.

sup cron, i had a tdx before i upgraded to my storm

with exact same settings (except i changed the tubing to tygon from some generic stuff and added hydrx instead of water wetter) storm is about 3-5c better (w/o ihs) if that means anything to u
