So my system is described in the signature...should I go for Geil ONE S to run 1:1 or keep my Mushkin XP4000?...I think, my CPU has samo issues with runing in async mode...:cool:

Primoz

*gg* Have got nearly the same question, but i want to get "GEIL Ultra X DDR400" ( with TCCD ) to get 2800 Mhz 1:1. In the moment i use Mushkin Special BH6 @ 255 Mhz with 166er Divider .....

Maybe.. Can ur Mushkin not handle the 263MHz?

@Giana

No.. The TCCD at 1:1 would not be faster then the BH6 with tight Timings and 255MHz! (U have 10x Multiplier, yes?)

...yes I can but not withouth a JP17 jumper set to 5V...but this jumper cause my MOBO and an Opteron CABYE 0540 FPBW 3gh @1.408V to die...so I won`t use the JP17 jumper any more...

Nope, have Multi 9. Sig in the other Forum ;) says Opteron 144 @ 2800 Mhz ;D
I think i could get a little bit more out of the sticks, but the CPU is limiting me :slapass:

Whooooo ? Ur Mobo died cause of the 5V jumper? Actually my system works with the 5V jumper very fine with damn stable VDImm! My DMM dosnt lie to me ;D

With 1,41V u can go near to 3,6V, u need more Vdimm? A friend run's his Mushkins 24h primestable 265MHz 3,47V, maybe i can give u A64Tweaker-Shot, if u need more Vdimm then that. :)

Edit: Oh, ur CPU and Mobo already died? :-/ Then i would go with the TCCD too, i think...

@Giana

So u want to run it 9x312 1:1? U must lower the Timings to 2.5-4-3-7 and maybe really bad Alphas, so i would stay with this Muskins. On the other side, maybe ur TCCD are not that good to hit 312 stable, so u must use an divider too. ;)

Wait wait wait ;) Befor I xxxx up my system .. tell me about the VCORE / VDIMM thing with the 5V jumper? Where is the problem? I have got a good cooling solution.

No special problem with the 5V jumper to be honest, there is just a thread here on XS, where u can read, that the differnce between Vcore and Vdimm must be in a save range! http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1137622&postcount=64

With 1,41V...with the dead CPU...this one is doing 2,9ghz @ 1,488V...and nothing more even with VCORE 1,6V...

Yep U can look at the thread in the AMD forum on XS...

p.s. I was using 5V jumper, ram was at 3,3V and CPU at 1,408V...

i would have thought 290x10 @ 245 ram would be faster than 290x10 1:1 even at tigh timings, 2.5-3-3-5.

but if you got to geil one S you could go to 322-325x9 2.5-4-4-7 with loose alpha timings.

which i would have thought would give much more bandwidth.

i have 2 sets of geil one S and both can go over 330 2.5-4-4-7.

K i have read this ;) Then i dont have any problems running my Mushkin @ 3.4 or 3.5 Volt cause my CPU needs 1.6V for 2800 Mhz ;D I am SAFE! :D

Iam running my XP4000 at 3.53v and 4400+ at 1.6v all day everyday with no problems but I have the CPU on a storm and two 120mm fans (7v) on the side blowing on the Fets and ram :D

I have some Geil One BH which does 268 MHz 2-2-2-5 and some Geil One TCCD which does 330 MHzh 3-4-4-8, both SuperPi32.

Two results:

Yes, the BH is faster overall (see my benchmark suite).

No, it's not worth the trouble, we are talking a single percent here.

IMO 290 2,5-3-3-5 and thight alphas gonna be faster then 330 2,5-4-4-7 with loose ones

it would be close, but i would take the 330.
