... One last thing, cause the sourcecode of SPI 1.4 be revealed.. - Im currently on a mission - I got programming in school and wanna make a page that's able to do PI calculation (pifast std. / SPI std) and E-calc, online :)

I wouldnt have given it to just anyone obviously, but XS was perfect. I had 3 other offers but I went with the most trustworthy candidate, not the highest offer :fact:

So enjoy :toast:

the http://superpi.radeonx.com link forwards to http://www.xtremesystems.org/pi/ instead of .com

and on the http://www.xtremesystems.com/pi/ page it still says Super Pi 1.4 XS, 2005/03/14

validation still tells me:

Validation result:
Incorrect checksum!

If you think a result is faked then you check the validation checksum. It does nothing else :)

Superpi has this feature: "2005/02/27 Added more cheat protection. Try to cheat and it'll crash :) "

It crashes everytime I try to run it. No difference if I push the sytsem hard or not.

Any way to fix this? The normal version runs without problems.

Charles Wirth

Your machine stability would be the first thing to check. The program is a simple pi algorithm. I highly doubt the program is flawed as too 10+ million downloads there has been two reports of inability to run the program.

Most likely memory is pushed too far or defective.

Just wondering if because some people are using SuperPi 1.5 XS the checksum does not work?

I just downloaded SuperPI 1.5 XS since on a couple of sites thats I looked at most of the people were using SuperPI 1.5 XS.

When I try to validate the checksum it says invalid though and I have tried multiple times with the range from 16kb to 2MBs and everytime it fails the checksum on the website.

Here is a sample of one of my runs (yes I know its not a record but then again the system is still at stock speeds)

Its a bogus program that just does a fake calculation to whatever you type in as variabled, there is a visual difference with superpi 1.5 xs so its not a perfect copy.

Gautam
07-16-2008, 11:04 AM
Look again Charles, this doesn't seem to be that knockoff. A very low level timing hack it seems, this would affect everything, not just SuperPi. I think they're using the original XS v1.5 without any modifications.

But ATM validation isn't working at all as it is. :S

Antinomy
07-17-2008, 04:35 PM
I't a quite well-known hack. I remember this one for the good old Socket A. It changes the timer frequency, so the system thinks, that time goes slower than it really is. But there is a program, AnticheatTOC, it can catch this kind of cheat also. The program has been developed for Total Overclock - an overclocking competition. And there are new versions going out.

Would like to see that screen with the Anticheat validation :D
Cause this cheat was the first I recommended to add.

And yes, this program can make 3Dmark 01 run faster, that's for sure.

Is there something wrong with SPi mod 1.5?
I run a 1M calculation with a 20 pass IBT stable clock and Super Pi Mod "has stopped working" almost immediately or after 1 iteration.
I have also booted with default values from a cleared CMOS and recieved the same result. The same thing happens with 32M, sometimes a few iterations in.
Tried this on multiple hardware configs. Haven't been able to get a good SPi result in a while...

Yes, there is something wrong. In Vista (64-bit only?), disable Windows Audio service, and then it will run fine. There is a script somewhere on this forum that will stop the audio service, run SuperPiMod XS, and restart Vista's audio service.

One assumes that the program is hooking into audio DirectX to detect cheating, but that it doesn't quite work with some Vista audio drivers. I get this issue too.

I ran the 32M and got "0h 10m 23.797s" (i7 @ 3660 (20x183), uncore @ 3302, 3 x 2GB DDR3-1464 @ 7-7-6-18-1T).

hyper pi will run four instances (or however many cores you have) of Pi and offers the option to disable audio service in vista as descibed above.

I had this bug at one point, i never had to stop that service but i did have to make sure there were no sounds playing during the calculation. This includes the chime that plays just as the "now start to calculate" box pops up, which meant at first i thought it was just crashing in general, but in fact if i waited a second til the chime sound ended then pressed ok it worked no problems.

I'm not sure if you can mute the sound or something and that works too, if not i guess stopping the service is needed for those longer calcs.

Hehehe I've had one where it runs normally for a few iterations then finishes, eg

1.222s
2.325s
3.438s
4.667s
5.843s
7.012s
7.012s
7.012s
7.012s...

Those were the days when the record was around 20s and I had an end time of 13s or something on air :D

@DomagojX: Known issue with Core i7, already captured on video (so you don`t have to upload^^): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-cZc7iEdkI
@Oj101: Yeah, already had that problem once: http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/attachments/186030d1264824376-high-score-liste-maximaler-ram-takt-nach-cas-latenz-geordnet-1529_20071207_155732310.jpg (E6600, Striker Extreme, XP x86) - probably caused by too tight RAM latencies)

That's exactly it, but mine struck somewhere around iteration 5 or so  The best part was the validation worked anyway :D

Hello everybody!
I'm new to SuperPi and I have serveral doubts.
First, I know that SuperPi does not stress all cores but is there a mod or something that stresses all cores?
Second, Super Pi is not loading 100% of any core. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance!

I use a x3370, P5Q Deluxe, 6GB Kingston Hyper-X DDR2.
