Hey,

Up until recently I had no problem with the audio on my board, but now that I've bought some half-decent headphones I can hear a lot of hiss. The hiss even relates to, say scrolling a page in Firefox/IE etc etc.

It seems to be related to noise on the board.

At the moment I've gone back to a Soundblaster Live! and of course the hissing goes away.
No other computer that I have tried has the hiss with these headphones. Its not driver related, I've tried both drivers (nVidia and Realtek) and it doesn't fix it. I also get it to an extent in the BIOS.

Anyone got any ideas?

I noticed sometimes sound goes dodgey if the daughterboard for sound is slightly loose.

I've just reseated it, same thing. I've also tried running at stock speeds, but no difference.

I had the same problem once. I litterally tried everything to no avail. I finally switched the audio module to a different one a friend wasn't using. Problem was gone for good. I think it's just a shotty unit.
