Thinking of buying these for Christmas, and budget is strictly limited to $80-$100 max. These look like a good set of speakers, but I wanted to see if anyone had any personal experiece with them. Also if anyone knows of any 2.1 setups that would be better than this(as long as they are Altec Lansing or Klipsch, dont ask why) I'd love to hear about it. Thanks for any input.

My roomy has the Z4s. They aren't bad. They kind of fill the gap between the X-230's and the Z-2300s, both of which I've used. For the money though, I think the X-230s and Z2300s are better values. The X-230s are great performers at a budget price, while the z2300's are super loud, with very respectable sound quality.
