You'll have to find a used one as they are no longer being made ;)

I think fugger said aluminum was better for really low temps (but not good at holding them) or maybe I'm confusing it with something else. I think this would go well with a dothan and LN2. Nice workmanship Mickeymouse. How long is he banned for?

Wow nice!!
Does he sell those all the time? I know you said he's sold out, but does he make more every few weeks?

Thanks :)He said this was his last batch and thats it for mousepots. Those who got em are happy people.

I think one of them said that but they're wrong. Copper is colder. Unless you can explain how the copper loads @ the same temps an alumi no loads at.

Ahh, I cant beleive Mickey is permanently banned. Here's a link to fugger saying aluminum is colder @ cryo temps (below -150?).

-150C won't do jack if it's -135c loaded and a copper goes from -145 to -140...

Hey...it was mickeymouse that said his new aluminum units would be better than the original copper pots. lol....So who is going to post up that comparison now that they are finally here? I have been waiting for that one :)

I believe that the copper version has also better bottom model than aluminium. That last picture of copper version is just great. Its really beatiful container i must say. Someone could take picture from inside of copper version too.

But who will be the first to use one of those and when?

afireinside

hello there!
I'm nto very into mousepots or so, but, why dont you build a mousepot with a funil shape? like a big cone or so, the pressure of the ice/ln2 in the botton would be much greater that in a regular mousepot!

This is just me thinkin... but who understands physics, can understand me.

3" gives more ice at the base and more surface area. That's not important, right? ;)

Dumo, just get youre dryice as a brick, pallets cost something more and you still have to do the same; smash everything to snow! then the whole base will be touched! Pallets or larger pieces wont touch everything for the good heat transfer!

Well yes.. but what if there is space between the ice ;) your heatload will be more efficient with snow dry ice.

Nice stuff dumo...any benchies? The short tubes look killer.
I could run one of chilly's units with DI/acetone on fx55 clawhammer at close to 1.9v and still managed -66c evap temps evap temps under load for 3d. I was running his tube with the pellets floating in the acetone too (nausea :)
I would think this 3inch aluminum tube could take a thin walled copper brazed one at the least?

Problem I have with snow is that it like sucks acetone up when gets stuck on top of larger pieces so I have less acetone on the base and temps skyrocket... Hard to explain.

Ok but you get what i mean :D Well its just the part what you like the most. I find the snow part the best way for stabalize the temp.

Edit: Also with a solid tube youre walls help you a bit in lets say 3 inches. If there is snow, the walls will be touched in most ways like pallets wont do that.
