ive been a close follower of the civic si thread we have here, and noticed that nobody has mentioned the 2006 hatch version, which i belive its a stunning car..!

here in the uk this car was only launched last week, and ive already booked a test drive on the 1.8 i-vtech version this weekend :toast:

i was wondering if any1 else here has booked a test drive or is indeed intrested in purchasing one themself and also if any1 else would like to shed there thoughts on the car

few quick specs..

1.8 i-vtech engine
140 hp
6 speed manual trans
0-62 = 8.9 secs
max speed = 127
44 mpg

few pics of the motor...

i must say i do half agree with you there, altho i can vouch for this car and say it looks BETTER in person. i personally didnt like the car from all the previous photos ive seen of it, but i must say i fell in love with it at the showroom .... :D

hmm. it looks like they improved the gase mileage without sacraficing horse power.. Good job honda.. I wonder if the hatch is lighter.

But i still say the car needs 200whp.. It would be loads more fun to have that extra power under your foot.

the weight of the car is my main concern, i atm own a mercedes smart forfour 1.1l altho its only a 1.1 it weighs under 1000kgs and is quite nippy 4 wat it is and it is also quicker than the 1.4litre of this civic..

rest assured i will be test drivin the s**t outta it on sat, 2 c wat its like... the salesman best hold on2 his seatbelt :D

When I first saw images of the hatchback a few months ago, I didn't like it at all. I still don't think it's a very good-looking car, but it does look a lot better than the last Civic hatchback (EP3) Honda put out.

Yeah. That interior looks pretty futuristic, but just a little too futuristic for my taste. I do appreciate how the tachometer is the focal point of the gauge cluster, though.

What, you think you can deny the fact that every one of these "modded" honda civics sounds like it has a bad muffler? :p Sounds like a constant fart going on down the road.

But he asked what people thought. And I said what I thought. :p

naw don't like that hatch. i think its ugly. interior is nice. Don't see a lcd for navi. i see the pushstart for the hatch. does the si have pust start? 92-98 is a whole lot better than this.

the interior on the euro civic has its nice points (the digi part in the middle of the tach, and the power button), but other than that, I prefer the american interior. As conrad said it is just WAY to futureistic.

IF this is the K20 engine, it can get 300hp without much work. I say this becuase the atom (made by uk company) uses the K20 from the RSX-S (same engine as civic SI, just that the civic version is tuned down) and it outputs 300hp with a supercharger and not much else. pretty sweet if you ask me..

I'd give my left foot to have 300hp in my civic (well it would need to have triptronic if it had 300hp for me to give my left foot)

ugly at all angles. Why would anybody in Europe buy that? Theres so many other hot hatch options such as...

Well, even though I hate Honda, VW is worse, and Ford is nothing to write home about. Especially their "value" models.

and yeh i also dnt like vw jus for the fact that there SOOOOOOO common here in london, and as for the focus ST it jus screams out boy racer abit to loud for me and it also weighs close to 2000kg :O

i test drove the civic, altho its a v.nice car to drive it jus wasnt quick enough for me, so instead i jus upgraded my 1.1 smart forfour to the 1.5l turbo charged 177bhp brabus version :D

the astra (assuming your talkin about the vxr) torque steers like a total :banana::banana::banana::banana:! so unless u dnt care about handlin then its a very quick straight line car

the focus ST, has no class about it... altho its prob the best car out the bunch... great power & great handling

the vw gold gti... altho a very pretty car & the 1 with the most class... the interior is rather dull, and here in the Uk there so common you prolly spot the odd granny drivin 1 :p:

the civic is the most funky and fun lookin hatch out atm in my personal opinion... altho i am holdin out for the type-r version...
