So whatcha guys think? It's a tank... I mean HUGE. So big that it meets the 6000lb GVWR that'd allow me to use it as a Fed Income Tax deduction for my business! Hmmm... R350 with 268hp starts @ 48k.

and one in black! Mmmmm... of course I'd have that grey colored plastic in the grill and bumper chrome plated... along with the black mesh in the grill (or possibly painted body color)!

6000 lbs? Good lord. For the apparent class, it should be lighter...

dude...buy a hybrid
Not worth it.
If you get into an accident, you'll electrocute people. Right charlie? :D

Let's not get into "environmental reasons" for buying one or not buying one, but look at the money spent. Take for example the Toyota Highlander. Two versions. One is a hybrid. Do the math. Say you drive them the same exact way every day. Figure out when you would start saving money by driving the hybrid. Drive 20k miles a year with the high end of mpg for it and you will realize that it will take about 13 or 14 years before the amount spent on car plus gas is the same for both cars.

But charlie, stick with the Porsche or try the Cadillac SRX. My favorite but that's because I love Cadillacs.

another vote for the cayenne turbo!
was heading up 89N to Montreal at a modest 85 when one passed me going 100+..Hidden cop came out after him..all I saw was a puff from the exhausts and he was GONE! I mean GONE! Immense pickup at that speed!
Of course an immense price goes with it..
BTW: As another guy said here, that MB is FUGLY!:nono:

Anyone who buys a Porsche Cayenne should be shot IMO. - horrible, horrible car.

If you absolutely must get a SUV, get a Range Rover. :D

why? U have bad experience?

MaxxxRacer
12-03-2005, 03:43 AM
oasked, if your getting an SUV to do the things they were origionally intended for, get the Ranger Rover.. Those things are amazing. Atleast the old models were.

BUT the Cayenne is by FAR the best SUV on the road. Well let me correct myself. Its the ONLY SUV other than the X5 I would ever even consider buying.

Holst

I think the cayenne is horrible, as is the X5.

Much prefer a range rover over either of them.

Hi everyone.

It appears that some of you think that new Merc R Class is ugly.
Sure, he 's not pretty, or class....but he is hudge, in deed, dude.

europeans won't even think about buying those kind of cars...for work i mean.
For 48000 dollars, you could buy some decent stuff.

Charlie, if you haven't experienced Track racing, try the new Porsche cayman.
Lot of fun, this car.....

Mercedes is cosy and comfortable. But oldy and weighty.
BMW is great (M series , hatchback and cab.....also...)

If you love the gazoline, get a X serie from BMW (weither X3 or X5...but not offroading with those...or just a bit)
You'll be amazed how they handle on track....for a two tons vehicle....:)

One more thing, Porsche Cayenne is based on VW Touareg....
He is excellent in Offroading, but you have to buy options (V6):
_Suspensions
_Front and rear anti-roll bar (active??)
_Rear and front differentials lock function

I'm not sure about the vocabulary, but there is is.

You are so lucky........damned ;)

i preffer the cayenne turbo is like a sport car with big wheels if you want to go a little off road you can go if you want to go fast you can go fast is just amazing

the x5 is pretty confortable for city going to another city or just to work you will enjoy it

the discovery is amazing BUT is too big if you have problems finding a place to park you will hate this little monster NOTE: i never would use a discovery for HEAVY off road just TOO beatiful

What pricerange is the X5 overthere, Maxxxracer??

In Denmark its a freakin' 1.8 mio car on white plates (normal non VAN) if my memory is right... - Thats about 275-300.000 USD :|

It looks a bit like an estate version of a CLS....

fatfreepork
12-08-2005, 09:21 PM
the thing has curves like the CLS and is much prettier than a Cayenne which imo is the ugliest car next to the Aztek.

Patrickclouds

the interieur from the lexus looks very cheap and is bad quality

yes the q7 is based on the touareg.
audi uses in the a6 and a8 the elektronic brake, but the q7 only got the brake we know from mercedes or touareg.
but all in all the q7 is on the highest technical level with the MMI
and the price is on the same level with the touareg here in germany, if you do an identical configuration.
so i would prefer the audi, than mercedes, porsche or volkswagen

k here's the deal...

I went in and put deposit on a cayenne. I have a Titanium/Black coming in about 4 weeks. They gave me an option on THIS one here in Prosecco Metallic over HavanaSand Beige... I kinda like it and I wouldn't have to wait so long :D, wife thinks it looks too feminine for me??

Look at the new Chrysler 300C...she's getting out of a Batman movie....
It's modern and it's a good balance between Bio-design...and new edge design...with a touch of retro...i wouldn't dare having of those.

For the porsche, i mean, she's kind of a "old design product".

I like her this way, the exterior is light and smooth....kind a good light reflection...
Definitly....not having big wheels lights the bodywork
She's not feminine.....she's a Porsche....period...

Now, convince your wife....the better part...;)

right...

well for ONE thing, black is out. Wife won't accept black car.

So it's a Titanium color (grey metallic) or the Prosecco (gold).

Around here black is the first MOST common color for Cayennes, Titanium is second. The prosecco is VERY rare.

My thought process was, gold is a great color if you combine it with lots of aluminum color, so if I add some 20-22" aluminum wheels and the aluminum roof rails... follow it up with some clear side marker lenses and possibly a billet aluminum grill... that'd be a NICE look, eh??

Oh and I'm slightly reluctant on 22" wheels, for one thing they ride like sh*t from what I've heard and Porsche released some kind of service advisement saying that 22" wheels may stress or damage some front suspension part...

20" might look quite nice, (19" in the pic)

UPDATE in my driveway!!! :woot:

Look at this....

http://www.gemballa.com/Modelle/index_e.html

or :

http://9ff.eq-media.de/main2_content.html

those are the two best tuners on Porsche.....smooth and discreet.

or maybe you want to try this mod :

http://www.allocine.fr/film/galerie_gen_cfilm=9712&filtre=&cmediafichier=108501.html

Also, there is a cayenne Phase 2 coming...Hybrid also :)

Porsche is gonna put the Cayenne on Track..and on sand for the famous Paris-Dakar......

Tell us your impressions on this baby (comfort, driving..and so) pls :)

I have heard nothing but bad things about those.
My buddy tells me that they are a rebranded Pacifica.
Stay away!
